On the contrary, i greatly value all who have served in the military, not just the military service of politicians. Just recently: Monday, December 3, 2018 The Pentagon has identified a fourth U.S. soldier killed during a devastating roadside bombing in eastern Afghanistan over the weekend, representing the single deadliest attack on U.S. forces in the war this year. Sgt. Jason McClary, 24, was critically wounded when his vehicle was targeted by an improvised roadside bomb blast in eastern Ghazni province over the weekend. He died of his injuries Monday at the U.S. military facility in Landsthul, Germany, according to a Pentagon statement. I'd like to see the media devote some time to celebrating the short lives of these brave young men. Millions of Americans have lost their lives, were severely wounded, and scarred for life in military service. They all deserve to be celebrated. Not just politicians.
Most of us don't talk about our military service, particularly those that served in combat theaters. Bush was more or less forced to talk about his military service because of his choosing to be a politician.
You only put teachers in there with the real heros because you are one. I doubt if you are risking your life to teach the youth of Bunkie. I won't thank you for your service but I will buy you a beer.
You'd be surprised. Teachers' workplaces are prime hunting ground as soft targets for active shooters. Just today I had a guy, who once worked at the US Embassy in Moscow, walk our campus with me doing a danger assessment. It's definitely something always in the back of our minds these days- the potential for it to become a death trap.
Husband of a teacher here....teaching became a high-risk profession the day the concept of "gun free zones" was introduced.
somehow I think of the military as being a little more invested than teachers no disrespect to teachers but it doesn’t equate
I've been to some pretty dicked up places while in the Corps. But I don't think I would want to teach in those inner city schools. My hat is off to the teachers who do...
