I will agree Bama simply does not get called for holding penalties ever.

The whining about the officials is ridiculous. There were some penalties that should have been called against us and we couldn't do squat on offense. I'm all about conspiracy theories, and if you are too you should have expected Bama to get home cooking. If our offense wasn't psyched out by the Bama mystique they might have actually done something.

Interested to see if the team gives up or not. These remaining games are important to our future success. Playing like shit to end the season just adds to the likelihood we lose next year too. It's obvious Saban is in the head of our fan base; so many saying "they're just too good for us, we have no chance." Eaux answered that question post game - "They're good, but this loss was on us. Our offense was terrible."

One good thing is if the season tanks, then we know Eaux ain't the one. If he keeps the ship from sinking, he probably is.

I do have a problem, I saw a few holds by Bama.
The slide Etling took in first half and the player still jumped on him yet the call LSU for hitting Hurts out of bounds as his foot stepped on line. Which resulted in the TD.
That was BS and surprisingly Danielson called the res out there and the hold play when Hurts scored.

Granted the play calling was horrendous. It was like Miles took charge and wanted only I formation runs and the throw an occasional 30 yd pass

Your OL can't provide a pocket for 3 sec so why are we running deep routes.
Throw guick slants, roll QB out, play action out of I formation. Where was Guice?

Where was the creativity used against Ole Miss.? I know Bama has a much better D but doing the exact same thing for 2 halves is stupid.

Couldn't agree more. I don't know why I thought this (probably because it makes too much sense), but I thought the entire bye week would be spent practicing different types of screens, misdirections, and passes to backs out of the back field. Give Etling easy throws early to give him confidence. Nope, basically just the same ole tired gameplan Miles has trotted out there the previous 5 years. I don't know if it's bravado or stupidity to think 'this is the year we finally beat them with this game plan'. More stupidity than anything else.

There are bad calls in every game. The false start penalty on Bama in the 4th Quarter when they were on the 5 was total crap. Nobody moved. Also, the phantom grounding penalty in the 1st quarter on Hurts wasn't a penalty. Grounding can only occur if the QB is under duress. He slightly rolled to his right and threw the ball. Looked like a miscommunication to me since there wasn't a receiver anywhere, but Hurts wasn't in duress so it's not a flag. Holding call?? Probably could have been called. Hit out of bounds was ticky tack, IMO. The multiple personal fouls on Bama with one on LSU, if LSU hadn't reacted, we would have gotten the penalty, but you can only accept one penalty.

Really I hate talking about missed calls, though. Even if they call a hold on that one play, Bama wins the game probably 6-0. The real point is, we weren't gonna score. To focus on officiating and not to focus on the fact that we spent the entire 1st half in Bama territory and scored nothing is giving the officiating more weight than it's worth.

I am a Tiger fan, but my biggest passion is the Saints. The Saints got the same number of bad calls in 2009 than they did any other year, IMO. The difference was, it didn't matter. We overcame those calls. LSU did the same in 2003 and 2007. Good teams do. Mediocre teams make excuses. Until LSU beats somebody good, we are a bad team. Sorry. I don't care was O says. We are 3-3 against actual teams. The two rent a wins don't count. We are mediocre.

Excuse me but NO ONE said it would have changed the game....at least I am sure LSU would never have scored. However two critical calls on the TD drive did have significant impact. The first was the hit out of bounds on D White. That was a 3rd down play where Hurts didn't make it. The penalty gave Alabama a first down instead of punting. The second on the SAME DRIVE was the no holding call on Hurts TD.
Of course you can't assume what would happen but the THAT TD drive should not have happened.

BTW do you think the hit to Etling's head when he scrambled, slid feet first wasn't a foul and might have affected him for the rest of the game?

Jalen Hurts was under duress, it doesn't matter if there is a miscommunication, Etling's grounding didn't reach the line because he was hit. That didn't matter though. Had that been Etling the flag would have come out. Everyone on here has said over and over that Alabama was the better team, Alabama probably would have won anyway. But god damn this shit gets old. Hurts fumbled and the ball is whistled dead. Let them fucking play and come back and look at it. Sure there are missed calls in every game. But for fucks sake this shit happens on the fucking regular with those ugly as Crimson uniforms with the number on the helmets are on the field. That's a fact. Is there a conspiracy? No I don't think so, I just think the Southeastern Conference has terrible horrible no good pieces of shit for officials.
