I agree, officiating tonight wasn't perfect, but it didnt cost us the game. An absolutely putrid offensive line performance is what did it.
That shit never happens to Bama, just saying. What about the out of bounds flag that I think kept the same drive alive. At that point all that prick was doing was running. Treat him like RB. The zebras let the much earlier hit on DE slide though, just good fun you know.
It will never change. It's no secret that Bama has the league office in their hip pocket. I know we couldn't do shit on offense and probably would have lost the game 3-0 instead of 10-0, but those 2 BS calls changed the entire complexion of the game. It would be different had this been the first time it's happened, but gahd damn, it happens every fuckin time we play them and I'm sick of it. But there's zero that can or will be done about it.
IMHO, As mentioned before, the problem with LSU was the oline being dominated in the trenches.....if you wanna beat bama, you have to control the line of scrimmage....I'm VERY proud of my Tigers...who else in college football can say that they held the BIG BAD WOLF scoreless through 3 quarters and 10 points total.......
There were horrible calls and horrible non calls. I thought there was a grounding penalty that should have been called in the end zone, a targeting call that wasn't called, there was the clusterfuck on the sideline with 1 personal foul offsetting 3 personal fouls on Alabama, there was a fumble that was returned for a touchdown that was whistled dead, a personal foul on Devin White that wouldn't have been called the other way because it wasn't in the first half, and the blatant hold on Hurts 20 something yard TD. The officiating was probably the worst I've ever seen. That being said, LSU's offensive line was completely destroyed tonight. And the few times they did give Danny time he couldnt make the throws needed with the exception of the 2 long balls. I would have liked to have seen more throws the backs out of the backfield and to the tight ends but let's be honest, Danny was running for his life most of the night. On top of that LSU's defense put their offense in a position to win this game, even winning the turnover battle which Is a recipie for victory. If those calls go LSU's way I'm still not sure LSU wins this game. However the SEC should be fucking ashamed that this is what they call officiating. It was piss poor and these fucks shouldn't even be washing cars for crack money. One more thing I was hard on Dewayne Thomas and that mother fucker played his god damn balls off tonight.
You gotta continue reading, I'm not blaming this loss on the officials even though they clearly sucked balls. This loss falls squarely on the offensive line and them just getting bent over and prison raped all night. These guys have no heart. I didn't expect them to go out and lead Fournette to 200 yards and 3 TD's, but I didn't expect them to play on their backs all night either. You have 6 foot 5 346 pound Josh Boutte who got flattened and couldn't push back smaller men. You have Will Clapp who looked like he was a 3rd grader playing against Warren Sapp in his prime. Pocic your best lineman got no push. Teuhema and KJ both did squat. That being said I don't understand why LSU didn't run more misdirection or try and use Alabama's aggressiveness against them. The few run plays that did get positive yards were draw plays which is smart but obviously you can't just run draw all night. Why no screens to Fournette? Why no dumps to him or Guice. The one time they did throw a ball to 7 coming out of the backfield went for about 9 yards. I'll be glad to see Jeff Grimes go. We all knew Alabama's front 7 is as good as it gets, but for fucks sake, you gotta do something on offense. At times I wondered if along with Tyrann and Patrick they brought back Les as the guest coach because we saw confusion on the sideline burning timeouts because the play didn't get in on time or the wrong players were on the field. You can't make mistakes like that and expect to beat this opponent. It's also hard to undo the absolute fuckery Les Miles left behind in a month.
