I hear ya! But every major program has to have some of those (games against teams that do not require a home visit). The one that kills me is Tulane. I think it is terrible that we play a home and home against such a poor opponent (even though we keep our ticket sales from the New Orleans games). Most people who responded to my thread on this after the game had no problem with it, and totally disagreed with me. I think if you are going to do a home and home, it should be against a stronger opponent. If you beat Tulane you gain so little, and if you lose to them, you lose so much.

How does the home and home work with Tulane? Just switch jerseys? Is there a Tulane stadium anymore???
I know, for a lot of political reasons that you HAVE to play Tulane, so it doesn't bother me--LSU may lose it's state funding from all the Tulane powerbrokers in the state....Anyway, we played a lot of "in-state" schools this year and usually play 1-2 in state because there are about 8 D 1-A Ohio teams in Ohio...With that said, the state has "recommended" that OSU play a certain number of games in state to "keep the money in house." I think that's garbage, though...
For what it's worth, we played Youngstown State (Tressel coached there prior to OSU--deal was made a while back)--Kent St. was better than most people think (they ran the ball vs. UK for 324 yds in Lexington--final score UK 56-21, so they did push the 'Cats around some) Akron--I can't defend....

Thanks for the nice words about "BP" TigerDad. I stopped by here at the recommendation of a few Tiger fans that have posted on "BP" and have to say that I'm also very impressed with your site. Haven't posted but plan to over the next month. I think our programs and the fans that love them are very similar. WE are BORN as Buckeye fans, and I believe "y'all" (as you like to say) are exactly the same with your Tigers. Last year, alot of bad blood was going on between us and Florida. Both sides were obviously to blame, but them folks came across as being obnoxious to the n'th degree. They'd ban your A$$ on their sites simply for showing up. I actually got denied access to one simply because of my user-name.

Anyway, I'll assume that Tiger fans were actually "born" in Louisiana for the most part, as we Buckeyes were in Ohio, and not "transplants" like those sorry saps in Gainesville. Let's keep luv'in our teams and keep up the good conversations.

    Peace, and GO BUCKEYES!!

I am a member of the Planet, and just like I see here, you will have folks who are very zealous about their teams. Just as the Buckeye fans were welcomed here, you guys are welcome there, but the same expectation of manners would apply in either case :)

My only complaint so far is that there aren't any tOSU Icons in the rival section, so I had to roll with the [current]hometown team.

Our away games against Tulame are in the Superdome. So the NC will be our 2nd visit in the past year unless you want to include the Sugar Bowl against ND last year.

Yeah, my bad I knew that--just forgot that Superdome is home to Tulane-- but when I see LSU play in the Superdome, I view it as a home game--purple jerseys or not--kind of like when OSU plays Cincinnati at Paul Brown Stadium (a home game for the most part)..

Glad you're here...and for what it's worth...I'm digging your ASU icon!

And as far as the Tulane game...it is NOT a home game for LSU for a couple of reasons.

    #1) Tiger Stadium>>>>>>>>Superdome
#2) The game was like at 1030 AM!
#3) Not many Tulane fans...but quite a few LSU haters.

And not only did we wear purple jerseys, we wore those ridiculously ugly Katrina jerseys. Tulane's looked almost exactly like their normal jerseys...and ours looked retarded!

Us LSU fans see it the same way. We have played in the Superdome a few times the last few years. I think one advantage LSU has is that our indoor practice facility has the same turf used in the Superdome and the Georgia Dome used for the SECCG. Therefore, we will have an advantage in preperation for the speed of the game.

Ohio State's stadium has turf, not grass.
