this is what i like about spieth. 5 three putts for the first time in his career yesterday. is tearing it up today. dj with his usual off round the deeper it gets. sergio has a good shot to be in this on the final day. duval shot 5 under.

the irish open continues with dunne who is barely older than spieth in the lead with padraig right behind. dunne -11 five at -10

    tiger still deep in denial.

Saturday at the British Open, Woods missed the cut by seven strokes, shooting rounds of 76-75. This marks the first time in his career that he missed the cut at consecutive majors. He has now missed three cuts in one season as a PGA Tour professional for the first time.

“I felt like I was playing well enough to win this event,’’ Woods said. “On the very first hole on the first day, I fat a sand wedge in the water. I fatted my 3-iron off the tee, and then I fatted my 8-iron into the green on 2, drove it in a divot on 4. It was just one thing after another.

“I had my opportunities, I just didn’t get the ball close enough, and then when I did, I didn’t make them. It’s frustrating, there’s no doubt, because I’m not making those runs. To win major championships, I’ve always thought you needed to have two good nine-hole stretches. They don’t have to be in the same day, but you’ve got to have a nice run in there, and I haven’t done that at all.”

Right so you weren't playing well enough to win. Quit pretending you were anywhere close much less well enough to win. Just stop already. He has a want to score but we know that doesnt mean shit.

If I had shot a 75 at St Andrews I would be ecstatic. But I'm not Tiger Woods. Who the hell does he think he's kidding? Smacking a wedge into the water on the first hole is "playing well enough to win?" From the position he was in on the fairway 80 golfers out of 100 put the ball on the green and the other 20 miss long or miss wide.

Tiger has acquired a new skillset. Where he once turned 75's into 68's, he now turns 68's into 75's. They say he's as great as ever on the driving range and in practice rounds. But we talkin' bout practice. Not a game. Practice.
Everyone used to fear Tiger. None of the current bunch of great young golfers quiver when Tiger stalks the course. It's not in his body. It's in his head. Instead of hiring swing coach number 33 he should hire sports psychologist number 1.

I'd imagine someone of his caliber does have a sports psychologist, but your point is a good one. It's more mental than physical.

What @TerryP said is like the traditional definition but I think today it refers to those goat trails they play on across the pond with the waist high grass and fairways that are watered with viagra so a worm burner will run for 6 miles on a good day. If you look at a golf course and say "man, that looks like shit" its probably a links course, Augusta is NOT a links course.
He can call 1 of 2 people and he will call neither because he can't get out of his own way. From what I understand Butch has already said he would help him but he will never let it go.

Yeah and just as Spieth makes a clutch putt to get into the shoot out he spits the bit on the next hole. Phil syndrome, he was too close

his putting stats dont support your argument. hes 180th from 4-8ft and 1st from 20+. he didnt choke, he just needed to move the ball back 15 feet.
