Right.....................

I dont like Saban because the man has ZERO INTEGRITY!

Yeah this is a business and no I can fault someone for wanting to better themself BUT I can blame them for the way they handle it.

Business/Job/Relationship they are all the samething and while the language is different in each the principles are still the same.

He LIED his ass off, he came at and said on MANY occasions that "I'm NOT leaving", "I'm not going anywhere"

AND THEN to get off of the plane in which you flew in to go to a bowl game with your present team and tell the world that you are leaving, is UNACCEPTABLE!

Am I a "Saban Hater" no not really, I would wish more that we would just let him fade into history, BUT at the same time, I wouldnt piss on him to put the fire out either.

Les is a decent coach. He is also a solid recuiter. But I do agree that his leaving will be a blessing in disguise in the long run.

I agree 100% with your post here.
If all the CLM's rumors are true and they did this deal during the regular season then it seems to me he has done something just as bad if not worse
than CNS.

At least CNS waited until after the regular season and the SECCG before all this was done.
I think people generally like and except CLM's better because he is a likable guy, CNS is more of a head case, dictator, non-people person.
Spurrier IMO is the best of both worlds, he has some qualities of both coaches.

Then you have doomed yourself for disappointment. There is simply too much animosity toward Saban to make him a candidate. In addition, he is not leaving Bama after all the fanfare, not to mention his salary, of his arrival in Tuscaloosa. If you are not happy with coaches such as Rodrigues, Del Rio, Spurrier, etc., then I feel sorry for you. Having said that, I wish Saban would have waited one more year before leaving Miami.

Miami offered him complete control. You don't get the opportunity very often, if any in today's league. Being a HC in the NFL, means being at the top of your position as a football coach. I also don't blame him for taking the Bama job. They just happened to come calling at the right time, and was willing to fork out the $$$. HE DID NOT LEAVE LSU FOR BAMA!!!

I can tell you this much. If he would have stuck it out one more year in Miami, I'm sure no one would be saying anything about him possibly coming back to LSU right now.

I agree completely and I will even take it a step further....
I am sure this next bit is going to get me bashed on here, but I have given this some serious thought. Here goes:

I have only been on TF for a few weeks now and when the rumors started about CLM leaving LSU there was a unanimous sentiment on this forum:

From what I understood, most people here wanted 4 things in their next coach: 1) championship calibur/ big name; 2) someone that views LSU as a "dream job"/ great job 3) someone that would stay here a long time 4) someone that would keep the program at the level its at now, or even improve it.

In reading reports on Saban from the last few years, he has made it quite obvious that he made a mistake in leaving LSU and the program that he helped bring back to glory. He hated the job at Miami and regretted ever taking it. At the time when the bammers were needing a new coach, Saban had most certainly lost his desire to coach in the NFL. He missed the college game, and surely wasn't going to be lured away by Directional State University. He is a top tier coach that commands a big salary. Alabama, I am sure, was the best fit at the time.

And now it looks like a done deal that Miles is leaving. Maybe the rumors are true about Miles and/or Saban, and maybe they are not. I don't know and don't really have any sources of my own.

What I do know is this- there was a coach that came here once and turned our mediocre program into SEC titles, and a National Championship. In the 3 years he's been gone, we've had 2 trips to the SEC title game and one trip to the Sugar Bowl (maybe trip#2 after Sat).

If the rumors are true, there is a chance to get that championship calibur coach back.

Yes Saban has serious credibility issues, and that may be his downfall when it comes to winning back the fans, and with recruiting. None of us knows where the truth lies with him. He may actually love LSU, and he may really want to come back and continue where he left off. He may even stay here for a while. Who knows.

Again, I don't really know. But for me... and maybe me only, I would be ok with him coming back. The guy can recruit. The guy can coach. The guy has proven that he can build a great program. The guy can win.

Go do your research. Saban inherited a massive amount of talent when he arrived at LSU. It's not like he built the program from scratch. If you had been following LSU during the Dinardo years, your expections for Saban would have been as big as they were for Miles. But unfortunately, most of you didn't follow LSU football back then, so you just incorrectly assume that Saban built a Top 25 contender from scratch. He didn't. Same with Alabama. He is inheriting a massive amount of talent there as well. Chances are, he'll have them into a regular Top 25 contender soon, just like he did at LSU. He's as good as a coach as Tuberville. Just like Tuberville did at Auburn, and just like he did at LSU, Saban will have some runs at the Top 10 (and the NC if things fall right)... but in the end he will be a Top 25 contender, just like Tuberville. I wouldn't be happy with either Saban or Tuberville at LSU. I want someone who can keep us in the the Top 10 every season. I want a dynasty.

Saban is coming back to LSU. It will be on Nov 3, 2008 when we demolish the Crimson flow in Tiger stadium. :D
