Dose anyone know the story on BK...apparently he trash CLM and LSU on a radio show this morning in B-ham
I know the Kinchen family pretty well and i would be surprised if any of them bad mouthed the university or team.
From the rivals board I heard the interview and was taken aback that a former LSU player would come on the radio and criticize LSU in every aspect of the team. BK made the following points: LSU Defense: Not that good after the first few games, used KU defeat of VTech as an example of how LSU defense was probably overrated. He used the Tulane and La Tech games as other examples of poor defense. LSU Offense: "LSU really doesn't have much of a running game and Flynn is an average quarterback who is not a very good passer." Made the Flynn point more than once. LSU Coaching: Miles made it look like he had an offer from Michigan and that he turned it down so he could stay at LSU. Miles' decisions during the game make you scratch your head. He's won, but still BK gave Miles little if any credit. BK also said that LSU's success was largely due to the what Saban had done to build the team. When asked if he was going to the BCSCG, he said he didn't have tickets. When Saban was here he was able to get tickets, but with Les he hasn't gotten anything. It was both a disappointing and embarrassing interview for LSU. I hope Gus and Todd show a little more love than Brian.
And there you have it. Sour grapes. We don't want him there, anyway. He is not a Tiger. How about if we just furnish him with a lifetime supply of Independence Bowl tickets? That way, he can go watch his idol coach a bowl game every year.
Very sad. After bashing Matt Flynn did he have anything to say about OSU's QB? I can't wait for the game to shut all these people up.
I agree that our defense looked incredible in the first two games and the performance has dropped off since then. Hopefully, healthy now, they will regain their dominating form on Monday. I do not think we have a very flashy running game. I think it has been as effective as it needs to be (except for that one play at Kentucky). There is not other college QB in the country I would want running this offense on Monday night but I do not think Flynn is a great passer. If you know the family, you know all four of the men (Mrs. Toni & Grandma Kinchen for that matter also) always speak their mind. BK is a big man and can speak for himself, but I have never heard anyone in that family badmouth LSU in a malicious way. All 5 of the family members attended LSU. 3 were star athletes and one was a cheerleader. They do not dislike the university.
I dunno, I agree with a lot of what he said. We've said it here that our defense has not NEARLY been, down the stretch, what it was for the first couple of games and Flynn is a very good, solid, qb but he's not one of those top shelf qb's. Now, his leadership, work ethic, character, class, etc. are unmatched but a qb rating of 122 is not record-breaking. Just for example: Todd Boeckman 150; Dennis Dixon 161; Tebow 172.5; Chase Daniel 159; Chad Henne 130;
I know that many of us have said the same things, but I take exception to the continuing the "Saban is a better coach" myth. The numbers just don't support that at all, and I don't like hearing an LSU graduate trashing our "damn strong" coach.
He was a good Tiger and he has a right to his opinion. I am a good fan and I have the right to not give a rat's ass about his opinion. No hard feelings. Time will tell how right or wrong he was/is. Let's play ball.
