Jamie Howard told Matt Moscona that he and Walker were on a recruiting visit in South Bend the weekend of the USC game, and Brian Kelly told him then that he had been contacted by Scott Woodward. That was October 23rd.
A good friend of mine is huge ND fan. He's glad to see Kelly go (but my friend also has not come to grips with the fact ND does not have a path to the NC like they did years ago). Over the last few years he agrees Reese has developed as a play caller. ND runs a fairly balanced attack but is not scared to mix in tempo etc.. One thing I will say is that Kelly won't let it fly about not getting in a play on time or taking time outs because a play can't be decided on. He'll do it himself or find someone else. I think the OC/HC/Playcalling comfort level of Kelly/Reese could be a good thing
I think it's pretty clear that LSU had Riley on their list, thought they had him, then when he did his end around, went to the next candidate on their list, which was Kelly. Personally, I'd prefer Kelly so it's fine with me.
Both Kelley and Riley have the same agent. Probably asked him about both but according to Kelly on Dan Patrick this was first broached in late September. Apparently Kelly expressed interest early then left it to his agent. My gut is Kelly was 1 or 1a
Yes really! Auburn back stays in bounds and we play Max in the 4th qtr. and that very well could have been losses. Give you credit though good teams find a way to win the tough ones and Nick is the best at it. Not sure if others are catching up or Nick just has a bad class this year but they are not to usual standards.
