To me how could he leave a team like he has left Notre Dame. Without a coach thst has a chance to win a NC WILL HE LEAVE LSU ? Just up and GEAUX??? Going to be hard to trust him .

In my opinion, there are a lot of SEC football programs going "Oh $hit"

There is no good way to leave. A chance to coach LSU and win a NC you have to grab it before it's gone.I believe like a lot of sports people that he wants to win a championship before he retires. I think this deal was done a month ago. The man is a winner and his recruiting will be lights out because he won't have the high academic standards to meet he did at ND. ND recruits nationally and will now have the SEC at his finger tips.

If he wanted to be at LSU there really was no other way. If he waited too long he would have jeopardized recruiting, hurting himself before he even got here. The higher ups at Notre Dame don't seem too upset about it, and I'm sure the players understand, too.

As for trusting him, he's 60 years old, signed a 10 year contract. This looks like his last stop to me.

I’ve calmed down about it. He rebuilt Norte dame, built central Michigan, and had a good run at Cincinnati following d’antonio.

He left because he hit his ceiling at ND. Every time he came up against an SEC team in a playoff our talent smoked them. Now he has that talent and probably reasoned if Elmer and O could win a natty here so can he. He will be a solid leader, recruiter and no one else out there has the experience he has.

The early signing day has forced schools/coaches' hands. Schools want to make the move in time for the new coach to have an impact before signing day, which means they have no choice to bring in the new guy in December. Coaches who are willing to move have to leave their former teams in the lurch for the same reason. As usual, this bad situation can be blamed on the NCAA.

Honestly, it's hard to trust ANY coach when a hundred million bucks is being thrown around like mardi gras beads.... I trust the older ones more than the younger ones.

He's 60 years old and signed a 10 year contract. I think he will end his coaching career as a Tiger. Also, I think he has a much better chance to win a NC at LSU than ND.

    1. If he leaves on his decision, we don't owe him another dime.
    2. Players leave via the portal all of the time now.
    3. Loyalty is a 2-way street. There is no guarantee that he won't get fired 4 years from now if he doesn't produce.
    4. He left Notre Dame after 12 years. That is longer than any LSU coach stayed in my lifetime with the exception of Charlie Mac.
