No need to quantify, it's simple, Bama out recruits us, and everyone. Not sure how you can say we can spend less since we get less.
My point is there are MORE than a few people who bitch that we spend to much already on football. Our facilities are top notch so the idea of spending more not necessary IMO Throwing more money at a program isn't helping Georgia or the war chickens. I think we are doing what we need to do. Maybe just use the money more effectively perhaps.
I think all things being equal we are neck and neck with the gumps recruiting wise. I think they get a bump because they have had recent success and we have been stuck with a coach who squanders his talent. That hurts us with out a doubt.
That kind of thinking gets you the coach you settle on instead of the one you want. Nothing against Orgeron, I can't fault him at all. He'd be a moron not to work his ass for this job and accept when it's offered and your points about Auburn and Georgia are valid.
You miss understand we spend a shit ton of money on football as is. Ramping it up just to do it to keep up with the gumps will get us no where. No having people with intelligence in place to spend he money the right way is a totally different discussion.
Every year we are within 3-4 spots from the gumps. Seeing as though no one knows if a 5 star will produce like a 5 star or 2 star for that matter. Being that close in rankings is just bragging rites. Hell we had a top 2-3 recruiting class several years in a row and still underperformed

Bama has consistently been ranked #1. In my mind, their results on the field validate their ranking. I'm going to get coal in my stocking tomorrow morning for speaking so highly of Bama. And yes, I'm sober.
