Well Bama only has one 5* Olineman on the next class but Ohio St has two so kinda debunks that doesn't it?
A little hyperbole here, isn't there? If it's so political, and it's an "include every team" thing, where's UofSC? To me, it makes sense for LF to be on 2nd team this season simply due to the number of games he played this season ... but that logic goes out the window when we see Kam, first team, with only two more games. While Toth seems odd for 2nd team center, he's probably the best player (all around) UK has on their team. Pocic being first team makes sense—2nd rounder at the worst, IMO. Toth is a hell of a lot better than UGA's Kublanow or the Clayborn guy in Starkville. BTW, Cunningham out of Vandy? He'd be seeing serious playing time at your school or mine and would start on 90% of the SEC teams.
For someone who wants to begin a post with a figure of speech, you're sure taking things literally. Kind of ironic you validating them as they are cause Bama should have more imo. I even thought about you when I posted that. Course it "makes sense" but do you think it's valid? Who wouldn't take LF, to be their RB, first, given the chance. It's "All SEC" not "All Kentucky."
Is the award meant for accomplishment, or potential? There's a reason Guice is a 1st teamer ... better season, and possibly a better running back. IF LF wouldn't have been hurt I can't see him anything other than a "shoe-in" for a first teamer. As it stands, at the end of this season there are four guys on the LSU roster who have more rushing yards than LF. The fact he's a 2nd teamer is likely due to potential, not results. I, on the other hand, question those Bama fans who felt the Tide should have more on these lists. Williams didn't get enough snaps and is still more of a "third down" guy. Payne? Great contributor, but hardly in the top 50 for tackles this season (not really his job though, is it?" Notice, I said he was better than UGA's center, better than the guy at MSU as well. I see him as the second best center in the conference (as do some of the draft projection sites as well.) I don't put a lot of stock in some awards like the Doak Walker award. It's been an award given to Big 12 guys a lot ... largely due to where the award is based (in Texas.) They're nice, but in the end it's just a little bling...doesn't mean a damn thing in the W and L columns.
Or where/when/if the games are even watched. Some Pac games don't kick off until y'all are drunk sleeping. Schools have to kick in a strong media/pr campaign to get some players noticed. IMO, that type of campaigning is what got Carson Palmer the Heisman. That's a fan's comment and for the most part I agree, but don't think it doesn't matter to the players. They love that shit. I sure as hell would.
\ Might be true for these Cajun folk here...remember, I've worked nights going for a long, long time. More importantly, remember when god invented the DVR? Oh, I know it does. I heard Eddie George on ESPN radio yesterday talking about the Heisman and how much they, as a body, value character in their selection process. (Yah, rolled my eyes on that one.) This years Heisman was a joke, IMO, due to how many games 'Ville won and the competition Lamar faced. But this is a subject for another thread ...
And now Narcisse has decommited after visiting campus. Yeah... Things are going just great. Couldn't be better.
