I can't say I blame him. He is clearly the greatest player in the history of this sad, pathetic organization, has won 5 times as many playoff games than any other Saints quarterback. I don't understand what's going on here. Record setting, under 5000 yards average a season. I mean come on, PAY THE MAN WHAT HE WANTS. You have already lost Nicks, quit slapping your greatest player ever in the face. It's not like the Saints don't have the dough.

I agree, but it has to be cap friendly. They didn't even officially find out what they could spend until 2 days ago. They've already lost his best body guard, and giving him what he want a month ago would have no doubt ensured he lost his favorite target as well. Not to mention they have no idea what "bountygate" might cost them in terms of spending dollars. He is the greatest player in the history of the organization, but you can't make him bigger than the organization, either.

I still think Loomis will get this done. The reality is, we couldn't really sign Nicks, Colston, and Brees especially after seeing what Nicks went for to Tampa.

It took the Broncos and Payton Manning about 24 hours to agree on 5 years, $96 million. What the frak is the deal with Brees and the Saints?

they may be waiting for the full terms of the deal to be released. It will probably help drew's cause. I would much rather have drew than Peyton at this point.

He'll probably sit out if he has to lead a team of replacement players on defense.

Do we have anything new on Brees' contract negotiations?

Heard an audio clip from him on the radio yesterday saying they were still in negotiations for a long term deal. Can't freakin wait until it's done.
