    What was the story about Drew and his mom? Weren't there some issues that kept them from being close?

    Probably makes it that much harder for him.

    She wanted him to hire her as his agent coming out of college. He didn't and they were not close after that.

    She also was running for some office in Texas and he asked her to stop using his name to get votes.

    Yeah, after their public squabble in 2006 over her using him in her campaign commercials, he said their relationship was "non-existent". Sorry to hear about this, though.

    On the upside, though, Brunell played great in Brees' absence in the scrimmage. Definitely a good sign.
