I wonder who this is? The 5-star he thinks will follow him anywhere? Some other Clemson recruit? An LSU recruit?
We'll see. There will be no HCIW at Kansas State. Snyder is likely in it for 5+ years, from what I read. Co-DC for Cosh was more a favor for a friend to allow him to leave Maryland gracefully...he was on his way to being fired. Whoever the OTHER DC is will be running KSU's defense. I doubt that Co- title will threaten a guy like Koenning. As to why Koenning might take the KSU job over an offer from LSU...he is a KSU alum, and Snyder has a pretty good reputation for preparing head coaches, and a pretty good model for running programs that any AC could benefit from...not sure Miles offers as much in that regard. I'm not saying he'd do it...but if he did, those are some reasons.
I think Tyrone Nix is the best fit with LSU. He plays an aggressive style that matches the style of defense that has been successful at LSU. His style would be the most appreciated by the LSU fanbase as well. I don't understand why more fans are not wanting him more than Koenning or Chavis.
Im in agreement with you, Nix would be my top choice as well. For his aggression, and he is young. Which mean he could be groomed to take over for Miles in due time.
Are some of you hot on Nix simply because he is an aggressive style DC? Nothing on his resume jumps out as stellar.
He hasnt coached big time talent like the others has on a consistent basis and done well. Yes, I like his aggressiveness. I feel he would be the best fit for LSU. LSU was at their best under Muschamp. LSU doesnt seem to play as well with the bending style of D. Look at whats happened since midway last year.
I remember watching some of those USM teams and their defense was pretty good with less than BCS conference talent. They always seemed disciplined. He also ran some crazy formations that worked and kept USM in games. I guess it was just my personal impression from watching games that he was the DC.
I don't see why not? If the defense is feared in the SEC and nationally while he is DC, I see no reason why he could not. Tyrone Nix is only like 35/36 years old. Miles is already in his mid 50s or older and I don't see him coaching well into his sixties, due to unrealistic expectations in the SEC. If he is not forced out by these unrealistic expectations, he will probably retire early because of them out of frustration.
