    This is getting really crazy.

    http://blogs.kansas.com/kstated/2008/12/06/just-spoke-with-vic-koenning/

Appears as though they would have a Co-DC set up with Osh-Cosh-Bagosh, the DC from Maryland.

I don't know what to think.

It's not a done deal by any means. I am hoping it's pure speculation.

My guess is LSU gets Koenning, but keep an eye on this situation.

Sorry to complicate the situation that much more, but it is what it is. I think the conversation took place, but the guy got no direct answer from Koenning and he is using conjecture to come to his conclusion.

The only way I see Koenning going there is if they made him assist head coach other than that he will be a tiger.

If he does take the Kansas State job, then something fell apart regarding LSU. Meaning LSU decided to pass on him. Of course that would disappoint Gradin99, since his thread does jump to the conclusion that we actually offered him.

Anybody see Koenning passing up a DC position at LSU for a CO-DC position at K-State?

Koenning wants the next job to be a stepping stone to a head coaching position. Giving up 35 ppg in the Big 12 isn't quite a stepping stone. Unless he's been promised the head coaching job after Snyder retires. I don't see Snyder lasting past 3 years. Dude is quite old.

I think the blog writer is just pulling straws with this story.

That's what struck me as odd. I had to re-read the blog to make sure I understood that right. I don't think there's any chance of this happening. Unless we didn't offer him, there is no way he takes that position over ours.

Well islstl could very well have a point here:

Not saying it's the case but if this might be an option at K-State, VK may very well go.

Yeah, but this isn't just some yahoo writing a blog. He's the source of info for one of the recruiting services.

Not that he can't be wrong, which I think he is.

Plus the ex-Maryland DC all of a sudden isn't the sole DC? I don't see that working either. It's not like he came from Troy, he came from a legit BCS school.
