Re: Breakdown of our 20 commitments so far

Let me speculate, which is always dangerous. Most had been expecting Storm to commit to LSU for a while. Then he let the cat out of the bag and we knew he would commit when he came to camp. We already had him counted basically as signed--almost. Then when he left without a verbal from camp people compared it to Dexter Pratt. However, when word came out from his father that he wants to commit and we accepted it but are encouraging him not to go public it is troubling. We know we are targeting Seastrunk, but don't believe we will take 3 backs. So if we really would take Blue and he qualifies this year would we really give Storm the boot? Seems a little unsavory if what his father said is true and we would feel sorry for Storm. The other thing is that Storm is more of a proven commodity with a lot of nice offers and statistics. Blue, while he may have impressed coaches at camp doesn't have a full year of stats available that I could find, has academic age issues, and is more of an unknown than Storm. The other memories that it brings up is how we passed on Michaels last year and missed on Richardson. People are naturally intrigued with RB's, and whether we truly need more depth or not we hate to let highly ranked rb's get away. If Blue is a great back I hope we get him, but no one wants to see Storm get hurt.:bncry:

    Most are not ignoring Blue.

It is just that he is likely headed to Prep or Juco even if he signs with us. So we could still be taking 2 RBs besides Blue in this class. Or we are holding out to just take Lache, but say Lache doesn't sign with LSU we would have to take another RB besides Blue no question.

It's a confusing issue.. we don't want him to run off Hilliard/Hill.. but a bird in the hand.

So you think that IF we don't sign Lache then we will take both Storm and Blue. If we do sign Lache then we'll take Lache and Storm/Blue?

After the final 30 days of last years recruiting season and the signing day nail biting I have sworn off recruiting this year until after the season is over. However, we have almost 90% of our class already committed for 2010 and its only July! Man, has recruiting changed or what in the last few years? Its nuts.

I don't think the staff is worrying much about scaring off Hill and Hilliard because we have needs to fill now and they are big leans to LSU at this point.

I think we land Lache and sign and place Blue but we could still take another RB but that is yet to be determined with the numbers right now.

I am not sure if Miles is done with Storm now that they broke the silence or what but we are still in it with Parker and Dontae as well. I guess you could throw in Lamb since we are still his leader as well but I doubt we take him.

Sounds good. I've been hyping Storm up for a while now.. would be such a tease if he doesn't end up in this class
