Re: Breakdown of our 20 commitments so far Some people like to forge their own path. I would absolutely love for him to be a Tiger.
Re: Breakdown of our 20 commitments so far Nick Jacobs & Cameron Fordham - big athletic guys that could play a couple positions. Justin Hunter - maybe the highest ceiling of any recruit in this class, which is exciting to think about, but his ability in track concerns me. I love that he's in the class, but I'm not convinced that football is his future. Mike Davis WR - very good WR, seems to be a high character guy. A very early commit with high praise of LSU. Tyrann Matheiu, Tharold Simon, Eric Reid & Ronnie Vinson - three of Louisiana's must-gets this year (Matheiu was an unknown before the summer). All have star potential & together make a very good La DB class. Matheiu is the most raw but could end up being the best. Tharold Simon has a very high ceiling IMO, but it depends on how he transitions from WR. Sam Gibson is a great athlete that will likely compete in with these guys for a DB spot. Like with Simon, a very high ceiling but it depends on how he transitions. That is never easy to project. LB's Justin Maclin, Luke Munice, & DJ Welter. Maclin obviously has the highest ceiling here, because while Munice & Welter are good - I don't see them as potential first day draft picks. Evan Washington & Elliot Porter - two very good OL, both a little raw but have the ability. Washington is one of my favorites in the class, and I have predicted him to be a future All-SEC tackle. JaMarcus Hardrick is insurance for us with Black graduating & will develop the competition for the tackle spots. Houston Bates is a guy that is tough to get too excited about, but you know Miles' loves having on the team. The way I look at it is guys like this are important to have - just so long as they aren't the whole team. Jordan Allen - a must-get Louisiana guy. I honestly have not looked at his film, just assumed he's good since he's in the top 100. Zach Lee joins a very crowded QB situation at LSU. You have to love his willingness to compete, and a think he could be a good one but it will be a while before we find out. Brandon Worle is being taken as a "back" - not strictly a FB. He will get the opportunity to run the ball some. Dexter Blackmon is the biggest surprise of all this year - probably to the coaches as well as us. But he supposedly did great in the 1 on 1's, tested out well and has a lot of potential. Alabama was planning to offer. I am glad we got a DT in this class, but I'm not sure that Blackmon would've been a guy that got offered in a deeper class of DT's. Trovon Reed is the sole remaining "must-get" Louisiana guy. No out of state guy will ever be must-get IMO, although I would love to have Seastrunk & a TE (Dickson).
Re: Breakdown of our 20 commitments so far Seastrunk is the biggest must-get in this class, period. I don't view him any differently than an in-state kid. We've been recruiting him as long as any other player, and he'd be the best player in the class. Plus, we need a bigtime RB, especially after passing up on Michael last year.
Re: Breakdown of our 20 commitments so far This needs to be update two Alabama recruits: Dexter Blackmon (DT, 6'3", 245) from Selma, Alabama. Blackmon's only other offer was from Troy University. Sam Gibson (S/CB), 6’2”, 200, 4.4, Prattville, Alabama. Gibson is an honor student who chose LSU over Kentucky, Stanford, South Alabama, UAB, Virginia, Vanderbilt and South Carolina. You go Coach Miles. :geaux:
Re: Breakdown of our 20 commitments so far I bet it's not commitable. Seastrunk is the target, and my guess is Alred Blue is RB #2 in the class. Just my take on the situation though.
Re: Breakdown of our 20 commitments so far :geaux: Parso, you didn't mention Storm Johnson so do you still see him in this class? Personally I hope we still get him as well as Lache. Also what do you think our chances are with Dickson? :LSU231:
Re: Breakdown of our 20 commitments so far With all due respect to Parso, Brandon Worle is a true fullback. At 6'1" 240 and surely to inch closer to the 250 lb range, the guy is a hoss and will be very valuable blocking for our speedy tailbacks. The fullback from Tennessee (D Allen) from last year's class has a better chance at being a hybrid RB/FB in the Jacob Hester sense than does Worle. We need Storm and Lache to complete the trifecta of speedy RB/bruising RB/devastating blocking FB.
Re: Breakdown of our 20 commitments so far This board needs to calm down with their love of Storm. I'm not sure why people are ignoring the offer Blue just got.
Re: Breakdown of our 20 commitments so far This is just my opinon, but to me it looks like it will be Strom Johnson and Seastrunk as our two RBs for this year's recruiting class. :geaux:
