Will likely see him in special packages ala wildcat. Brissett would be next in line after Driskel though. Wouldn't be surprised if Murphy also got some PT.

Florida Gators coach John Brantley not expected to play against LSU Tigers, source says - ESPN

Florida quarterback John Brantley is not expected to play against No. 1 LSU on Saturday after suffering a high ankle sprain against Alabama last week, a person close to the QB confirmed Sunday night.

ESPN.com's Chris Low and Edward Aschoff write about all things SEC football in the conference blog.

A senior who has started 18 consecutive games, Brantley twisted his knee and ankle on a sack just before halftime. He was helped to the locker room and did not return for the second half.

Brantley, who has made positive strides under first-year offensive coordinator Charlie Weis, was relieved by true freshman Jeff Driskel in the Alabama game.

Driskel completed two of his six passes for 14 yards as Florida lost 38-10.

"When we lost John, that took the wind out of our sails," Florida coach Will Muschamp said after the game.

Joe Schad is ESPN's college football reporter. Information from The Associated Press was used in this report.

High ankle sprain? Is that what they are calling it? I saw his knee almost get ripped from his leg.
I guess his ankle bone is connected to his shin bone, his shin bone is connected to his knee bone...

Does that mean it would be harder for LSU to prepare for FU?

I am sure they will scheme to the max to spring open their two speedy RB's.

I was thinking the same thing. I was looking forward to pounding Brantley but the downfield passing game will suffer at least some IMO. After he left the game the UF offense did nothing, however.

When I saw the article that is what jumped at me. Smoke and mirrors from Jaba and the gang over there in g ville. Stranger things have happened.

I hope the team doesn't look at the Florida/Bama tape and feel to confident. Florida has a lot talent and I expect them to come out fighting after what Bama did to them on national TV. Add in us being number one and this could be the perfect trap game set up. We better prepare like they beat Bama.
