So its our rbs/wr/ols fault that they guy scored? I understand what you are saying and I agree with it. But I cant go that deep into the debate because its a little silly to me.
no, it's everyone. From Lee (for throwing it) to the rest of the team for seemingly giving up as soon as the Defender catches it. Remember last year's Auburn game? Trindon streaking across the field and catching that DB before he scored? Granted Trindon is our fastest guy, but I don't even see any of our guys chasing most of the time. I would feel a lot better if I saw someone, ANYONE at least giving chase, instead of just letting him waltz in.
I agree with that, Trindon is our fastest guy and there isnt any excuse. Because Hester ran someone down last year after an Int and that showed his leadership more than anything. Something we are missing this year.
Read Byrd and Lafell's body language on offense... Byrd's already had a faux pas with basically telling McCarthy to 'F off' after he missed a catch. Both of them had very bad and critical drops this season as well as being far too Hollywood for my taste and I'd bench em both after seeing what I've seen over the past few weeks. Losing Flynn and Hester left a big void in leadership on 'O'. Shepard should come right in and fix that up.
Byrd apologized to McCarthy for that, I wouldnt bench them, although they have drops they make big plays. Same reason Miles hasnt benched Lee. Good thing your not the coach. I havent seen any Hollywood attitude out of either of them. Byrd hasnt even been celebrating after scores like he did last year. So its safe to say you would bench Lee as well?
I'm referring to their obvious disgruntledness on Offense after bad plays. They need to shut the F up, especially if they are dropping balls on 3rd down. These cats are seniors! What poor attitude do you believe Lee's shown this season? I would definitely alternate the QBs against Troy, no question. If I were HC, he'd have played the entire 4th quarter against Tulane. Unlike some losers on this board, I don't assume that a true freshman would play any better at this point in time.
But you just assumed in the other thread that he would suck it up? Your assumption isnt any better than theirs. You have evidence on Lee, but you have none on Jefferson. Also, I wasnt basing that question on attitude, but on performance. I disagree with you on their attitudes.
the only spot I see the attitude problem is after a turnover. Both guys block downfield pretty well, run good routes, and catch most of the balls thrown their way. Chris Mitchell does this as well. Which is why I think he sees the field more than Tolliver even though Tolliver is probably more talented.
Their attitudes is definitely bad after a turnover, but thats not good leadership, especially with Byrd as a senior.
Prior evidence of true freshman QBs in the SEC would lean on my side. Regardless, we'll find out this weekend. Hopefully he plays the second offensive series. You're entitled. Body language says it all.
