Of course he wont be ranked as high as these players with the exception of Heyward Bey. My reasoning is this.....Crabtree and Maclin are the main targets on their teams. Mizzou and Texas Tech throw 50 passes a game and those guys will naturally have better #'s than say a Lafell, and crabtree is just a Monster. Percy Harvin is listed as an athlete so he is more of a reggie bush/devin hester type of guy. However  prides itself on being a more complete, all around, dominating team. We might beat you with the run and we might beat you with the pass and any one of our stars can be the defining factor.... one advantage that lafell has is that he is a "rangy athlete", he is tall, fast, and smooth on the field and he has really grown from what i can see physically and mentally!!! That will help his draft stock a lot. So jus keep your eyes open for him:tigereye::tigereye:
Dont worry its coming. If he continues to perform at the level that he has been on this season, there is no questioning him as a 1st rounder. Especially if he can keep it up throughout the SEC, which provides the closest thing to NFL defense week in and week out. He has the perfect size and though his speed is not elite , he has quick feet and a extreme burst that will get him to the next level. But Scott is also very intelligent, so look for him to stay and complete school.... Buut who knows.... and if he does go Keiland has one more year and My Personal FAVORITE Richard Murphy has 2 years.... they just dont stop!!!
This is true but they aren't being drafted or projected as first rounders because of their stats, rather their physical skills. Lafell has a great shot to shoot up the draft board and I hope he does. I am. He has always been one of my favorite players. :milesmic:
The best thing about Lafell (and I didn't read the whole thread) is his down field blocking. From last years Mississippi State decleater, to simple blocks to spring outside runs and wide receiver screens for 5 or 10 more yards. The guy is a work horse, and has pretty good vert for his size. I think he's a lower first round, high second if he keeps up the good work.
Lafell will go pro this year. This will probably be the last year that you see draft picks get as much money as they do. It is no secret that Roger Goodell is trying the lower the pay of rookies. Goodell believes that you should not be paying more for an unproven rookie than you would a veteran who has proven himself in the NFL. Veterans should get more than rookies in my opinion. I believe that Goodell is on the right track and I fully support this plan. I hope that the starting pay for rookies do go down because I believe that we will see more underclassmen stay in school instead of bolting for the NFL. Right now, most rookies can get 60 plus million dollar contracts without ever stepping foot on a NFL field. I believe that is why we have seen so many underclassmen declare for the draft this year.
Huh? NFL money isnt guaranteed, so after the Top 10 Draft picks, the guaranteed money and signing bonuses go down considerably. I dont blame kids who know they will be Top 10 picks for declaring earlier. The rest of the guys who declare early, who go in the late first round and anything after that has to prove themselves. Yea they get signing bonuses, but nothing close to Top 10 money. The rest of the contract money isnt guaranteed, you can bet cut by an NFL team at any moment. So no they are not on the right track, unless they make a clause that a draft pick gets some guaranteed money.

Felix Jones who was the 22nd pick in the draft got 5 years, $10.5 million ($8M guaranteed). So maybe some of the money is not guaranteed, but in most cases, most of it is. You also look back at history and notice you don't really ever see any teams cutting their first or second round picks except for maybe in there third year or something after it is obvious that they are bust. So these contracts that are signed by these rookies are still very lucrative and in most cases, these contracts are more that what most of us will make in our lifetime.
