I think LaFell will project as a second rounder, but he definitely projects better than Byrd. Byrd's 40 time will lift his draft stock though. I don't think LaFell will leave early.
Harvin I will not compare to since he is an all-around player and I am not convinced he will even play WR at the next level. He may very well play RB. Maclin should be #1. Crabtree is a sophomore, so that's not in the discussion of NFL projections.
stop your nonsense homie. he will leave and be the first wr taken. ah, look whos making the predictions now. maclin is a soph too, fwiw iyam imo ftw
not all of us watch games outside of LSU. how would anyone know if lafell is the best blocking wr in the country before seeing the rest? this isnt a shot at isl, just a pet peeve. we see what we see but it doesnt lessen what happens elsewhere either. although we can all agree the sec rules. thats indisputable no matter how hard hawkeye tries to convince us the bowl record is close. lets stick to bcs meaningful games as the true measurement. because if you truly think all bowl games are equal you're kidding yourself. how can you judge motivation? you cant but you certainly can be sure BCS bowls mean more than your average poulan-weedeater scrub bowl when you were expected to win a MNC.
1)ISLSTL is speaking of the fact that Lafell is more of an NFL prospect...not how he'll do in college. 2)Remember Dwayne Bowe? Couldn't catch a cold until late in his LSU career. 3)As ISLSTL stated, Lafell is the best blocking WR in the NCAA...in fact, ALL LSU WRs are great blockers, and have been for years. That is probably the #1 reason why a Craig Davis goes in the first round, and is why a Brandon Lafell will too. 4)Dude is a prototypical NFL WR. He is not as skinny as you think, either. He's tall, pure muscle, and fast...he strides like a gazelle. From the AU game in '07 forward, he has been All-American quality. NFL scouts aren't going to remember the AU debacle from last year by the time the draft rolls around...especially since, IMHO, he won't enter the draft until after his senior season.:thumb: edit---almost forgot why I quoted you. Jamarcus isn't doing that bad in Oakland. Oakland is just that bad. He has no interceptions thru 3 games, which is an accomplishment in and of itself for a second year player, who is basically a rookie in reality. He is definitely showing the cannon, too. He just needs some help. They'll be better this year than in years past due to a running threat, but he's finding out that NFL linebackers are harder to shed than SEC LBs.
