I'm hearing mumbling about RJF not having the grades to return even if he wanted to. Anyone else hearing that?
He had a rough start and got better as the season progressed... or digressed. LaFell would definitely be a first day pick, and he could be a first round pick if the WR class is thin enough. If he does come out, I think he'll go in the second round or slip to the 3rd, like Doucet. He should stick around another year and be a lock for the 1st round next time.
LaFell more than likely will NOT increase his draft stock after a senior season at LSU. He would be projected anywhere from late first round to late 2nd round if he leaves this season. And that's because the list of WRs is thin. He could easily project as the 2nd or 3rd best wideout. With all the great receivers coming out next season, he would only hope he could sniff the first round and could project as low as mid 3rd round. I hope he stays.
I hope he stays as he would probably have a monster year with Jefferson behind center. But, if he can get paid this year, then he probably should. When would he have to declare?
Scott and Williams leaving early? Haha that's laughable. Ask Labrandon Toefield how they worked out...He left after a mediocre season and missed out on a national championship in which a true freshman made Tiger fans forget about him. Scott had a great season, no doubt, but it was one year. He didn't do much in the past two years and next season could be a break out year for him which will make scouts seriously look at him. If Williams leaves its because he doesn't believe he will "earn" enough carries to raise his stock next year. If both guys are smart, they will return for '09.
This sounds a lot like Dwayne Bowe 2 years ago. LaFell was the man this past year and will continue to be the man next year. He is Lee's go to guy and will probably be whoever might be QB's go to guy as well. He has potential to be big next year when LSU is better and has more national attention
If so, let us pray that Ridley or Murphy steps up. Unless KW has a life changing experience, I wouldn't want to see him take the lion's share of the snaps like Scott did.
