I can almost guarantee this will happen. Harris is still very green. On the road in Starksville will be a challenge for any quarterback. To be completely honest I almost would like to see Miles start Jennings and rotate Harris to give him some experience. Maybe even give him his own package to run and build on it as the season grows. I think having the backfield that we have will make it a little easier for Jennings to execute given his experience.
It is difficult to win on the road in the SEC under the best of circumstances. This is going to be a fight, I think.
I don't think State is all that good. Could be a 7-5, 6-6 or even 5-7 team this year. I understand all the circumstances surrounding this game; Harris 1st start this year, didn't play last week, Dak Prescott, road environment of cowbell hell....... Still taking all that into consideration, if our O-Line cant get a good push and we cant ram the ball down their throat, we have issues. If we cant complete short underneath routes to move the sticks and have our QB pickup some 1st downs with his feet, we have issues. If we cant get a pass rush on their O-Line and stuff their run game, we have issues. If we cant lock down their receivers and not give up explosive plays of 40+ yards, we have issues. All they have going is Dak being Mobile. That's it. Call me a nega if you chose because I'm saying if we cant do these things we have issues. Or call me a sunshine pumper because I believe we are a much stronger, faster and physical team with a shit ton more talent at every position on the field (minus the QB). LSU should control this game from start to finish and if we cant, we have nobody to blame but ourselves because Mississippi State isn't that damn good. If we think they are, wait until we play Bama, Auburn, A&M, and so on.
If after 4 series Harris hasn't done squat, you're going to keep parading him out there? What's your cutoff? Jennings may not be any better, but IMO a struggling QB benefits from a little break. From Miles' history he doesn't seem to agree. From your posts in this thread, it seems you and he share that thought process.
If Harris hasn't done squat after 4 series we might as well see what McMillan can do. We already know what Jennings can't do.
Completely agree. I fully expect Miss St to finish last in the SEC West and unless they play Kentucky or Vandy, finishing with 0 SEC wins this year.
Kentucky is their permanent opponent from the SEC East. Ole Miss gets Vanderbilt. We get Florida. Fair? I don't think so.
