    Nope,
As I stated in this thread a few years ago, Brady lets too many good players leave the state and we are still short handed with the number of players that
    have quit or transferred out.
Yes, I was pleasantly surprised by the teams run last year and I love the
play of Tasmin Mitchell, a player that I have anticpated watching in an
LSU uniform for a few years, this team has played well this year.

Imagine how better off we'd be if we had some depth at guard.
Show me a year when Brady has depth at guard, forward and center
    in the same year!:thumb:

Yeah, the posts that I was looking for ended up being some started by TE on the main board. Some else dug those up for me. The only post that sort of caught my eye on this thread was the first post. I can't disagree with anything you wrote...

this thread just shows how stupid many posters are from time to time. we're all gonna be wrong about stuff given enough time and opinions stated but you should be able to admit when those opinions are grossly wrong. brady-bashers will be brady-bashers.

TT may end up being the best LSU player since Shaq. Temple is a top-notch SEC defender AS A FRESHMAN! He will go down as a great LSU player.

bitching about recruits brady didnt get when no one has a clue why. maybe foster wanted a better education. maybe zeno wanted to play for legend. maybe brady (and more likely butch) saw potential in TT and GT. even if you bashers decide to say that these players were good pickups, you wont give brady credit--"he just lucked into them", "they developed on their own"

you will enjoy LSU basketball more if you stop hating brady so much.

Are you saying no team but Duke has quality depth in the NCAA?
No role players or bench sitters anymore?
    Really?

    Everyone's a Star?

    Sounds pretty dumb to me

That is completely true SDM. No one wants to accept in todays college basketball game to be a role player. PERIOD... Kids are drinking the Koolaid that the AAU coaches and potential agents give them that if they aren't starting, then they need to find a place they can. I have more to do than look this up, but I can bet you a dime to a dollar that in the last 10 years that the transfer rate has gone up dramaticly within Division 1 programs. Kids want to start and play. If they are not the "man", they quit and go somewhere else.

When they are recruited, they look at where they can go and start immediately. I think that is why we didn't get a great point guard recruit last year. What player that is good, wants to come in and sit on the bench behind Tac.

    It is maddness!!!

LOL, I'm not disputing this at all.
Maybe I'm somewhat out of touch with Generation X or something.
I haven't followed college basketball that closely in years, other than LSU.

That is what happens when you have a family, a job and other commitments.

So, not having digested this entire thread, I'll just add that I was probably one skeptical of Brady and Butch when they signed both Tyrus and Temple. This was the year they let other more highly ranked LA players (perhaps Zeno and Foster?) go elsewhere.

What I'll say now is that yes, Tyrus is the real deal. Of course, the kid grew 2 inches and got to practice day in and out against Bass and Davis. What Brady and Butch were able to do is see the athleticism of this kid from McKinley and groom him. My beef is that B&B seemingly can do this for forwards, but don't have the same knack for doing this with guards. Clearly LSU has a rep with post players as "forward U", and they need to get there with their guards. Perhaps this will change next year when D.Mason and T.Martin get here. I'm looking forward to it.

G.Temple is of course still proving himself. I like the fact that he's 6'5" and a good defender, but he is also getting a lot of time on our squad simply because we are depleted in the backcourt. That same year we lost out on Shane Foster (again, I think), who is now an instrumental player for Vandy, averaging in the teens. When we recruited Temple, I was worried he really couldn't play point in the SEC (even though most reports played up his PG status at U-high) and he didn't have enough offensively (avg-ed like 14 points in high school). That still remains the case. I think his ball-handling is alright, but he makes a good number of unforced turnovers, and is struggling scoring at this level. That said, he's good mobile 6'5" and is helping this team a lot by committing to play perimeter defense. When and if his offense comes around, I think he'll be good. More importantly, you need some guys like Garrett who is not just thinking about the NBA--he's thinking about playin' ball for 4 years, getting an education and helping his school.

If Brady can land a legit top 50 PG in the next year or so, I'll have no beefs with his recruiting performance (with the landing of Terry Martin, Jr., I'd figure Brady has his SG spot handled for three years). So, their task is to find the next TThomas, at the PG position. I guess our next PG target is Josh White from CLA? :geauxtige

GT will be a monster by his Junior year. Brady hatred has people bashing him after a 15 game "career" and Brady hatred won't allow them to see the potential that is there. Brady has assembled an awesome team here and the 2 transfers next season will only make them better. As someone else mentioned, get over your childish attitudes toward Brady and jump on this bandwagon. I see a fun ride ahead.

I'd love to ask Foster and Zeno where they'd rather be playing right now. Foster and Vandy are doing well, but that platform they play on with the end zone benches is bush league. Zeno has probably cussed Knight under his breath a thousand times and TxTech is going nowhere. The green grass is on this side of the fence. Why cut your neck on the barbed wire trying to taste the other side?
