i never considered that one a championship because of a worse record than nebraska (actually i forgot about it, but ive gotta say something). sorta puts them on the same level as Colorado and GaTech. so i checked, i was dead on with the 60 years for Michigan--what a top program i love how we can talk so much smack now.
Yeah stuff is getting screwed up on quotes somehow. It did the same thing to you that happened to me with SabanFan. Wacky....I said the thing about Brady making $1 mil and how I don't feel sorry for him.
...and I said the thing about Dale Brown staying too long. However, seems we are agreeing and it is definitely time for Brady to go!
OK - I'll admit I screwed up putting Michigan in there. :insane: Though, they've had some decent seasons recently, mostly they're an NIT player, not an NCAA tourney kind of team. My bad. But your comment about football is really dumb on your part, so we're even. UCLA FB is worse than LSU BB? What does that even mean? They haven't done much since 1998, but UCLA has an impressive FB record over the last 20 years or so. LINK. P. 9. Arkansas struggles in the SEC in FB. Currently. So have we in the not-so-distant past. My point, despite my Michigan moment, is that LSU could conceivably field and support a relatively consistent men's basketball powerhouse if the right AD hired the right coach and we spent some clout and cash on the problem. The names Maravich and O'Neal alone help to get that door opened for us. Just have to decide we want to prop it open and keep it open. Honestly, I wonder if the current crisis isn't catalyst for such a turn in events. Guess we'll see.
LSU is more of a two sport power than ucla yes, certainly it is "conceivable". my main points are---1. LSU is already a two-sport power. less so than several, but moreso than about all but 5. the problems are because of the lows of cjb due to mismanagement. if only two or three of his low years were replaced with one-and-done ncaa tourney years, there is little ground swell for change. i had enough of those one-and-done ncaa tourney seasons with dale to give them next to no value. 2. if it were reasonable to assume LSU could become a "relatively consistent men's basketball powerhouse", then more than two sec programs would have done it (and one of them has $hit for a fball program). every single sec bball program has had success in the last 10 yrs or so----it is not easy to make it stick.
Agreed - seems to me that bball is tougher to be consistently good, regardless. Let's see who the new AD is. Might tell us something about the future of the Bball program.
