Maybe with a crop of freshmen. We are so thin at linebacker we play nickel 85 percent of the time. Chavis left the cupboard bare. Beside the 2 linebackers that start regularly, maybe Donnie Alexander and Devin Voorhies will step up their game, maybe not. Other than Beckwith and Jones we have no one I would feel comfortable with playing this year significantly and I think the coaches feel the same way or you would see them more.
But you know this isn't something that's new to LSU. I can't ever remember LSU having 3 really good backers in the same season. And what I mean by that is 3 that were playing good in the same season. I think Minter might have been a freshman when Riley and Sheppard were cracking skulls but he hadn't established himself.
