Not sure why we want to fire Peveto. It's not his fault that Domingue botched the kickoff. It all comes down to execution. Last time I checked, the coaches don't play, the players do.
Because we have to have a scape goat. It is not possible that a college athlete makes mistakes. If they do something wrong it is always their coaches fault. I'm sure Peveto instructed our kicker to kick the ball out of bounds.
domingue does NOTHING but practice kickoffs. the call was correct, obviously. a squib kick is normal in that situation. he fucked up the execution. one play that this dude does all day everyday is on him. not sure collectively if BDP deserves firing but im guessing probably not unless you hate his name like i do. almost a fire-able offense imo.
Did you miss the game? It was not, did you see the DB coming off the edge? Did you see the QB making a spin move to avoid the rush? Chief tried to apply pressure from the edge. This is the same bama offense that a couple weeks ago put up 59 against a&m. This same offense is avg. over 36 ppg. Have you seen how far this defense has come since the first few games? It has been vastly improved. The word "Prevent" was called out in the post games show, an quickly shot down. The facts prove it. Didn't help to have Thomas miss the rest of the season and RR21 to have to sit out the game.
This also was brought up in the post game show, I can't remember if the hosts used the word stupid or idiotic, or both, I won't use them. As to the Hosts reply, just look at the numbers with Les and Chief in come from behind wins and 4th quarter wins, I can get you the stat if needed. No one has more than Les. This has been rehashed before.
The blitzes by the DB's were delayed just long enough that they ALWAYS got there too late. They still lost the game. When I see 3 DL and 8 guys in coverage with 1, ONE, UNO, DB coming on a blitz after about 2 seconds and lined up almost on the sideline, it is a prevent. When they don't defend the sidelines to keep a guy from going out of bounds, what do you call it???? When a team can run 9 plays in 51 seconds and kick a game tying field goal, what do you call it??? It DOES NOT MATTER what this team has done from any point to now........they have massively choked on the last defensive series to the same team, twice, in a stadium that is constantly called the hardest place to play.....it is, EXCEPT for Alabama.
Well ESPN did not see it that way. Results were the same, twice. Miles cannot beat Saban, that part I know, the streak started in the most embarrassing game in LSU history.
correct. people want to split hairs on what is technically a prevent. we played 10-15 yards off the wrs effectively letting them march down the field with 45 secs left. yes thats a prevent whether we bring pressure or not. your eyes did not deceive you.
Like I said, this was not, go back an look at the film, this was shot down. OL were being held at the line, go look at Red's post "Good, Bad and Ugly. The DL was being held all night, even to the point one DL was spun around by his jersey (No call). There is a reason bama has their OL wear white gloves and white tape, to help with their holding calls (The LSU white jersey's). A coach pointed this out years ago. There was no delay on the blitz, once the ball was snapped, he was coming off the corner. Guess you missed the passes caught across the middle of the field, bama took its chances, what more can you say. But to blame Chief? He has taken his youngest team and improved every game this season. Yes it is the hardest place to play, you think that was an easy game for bama? Go check the stats, they are there. Its not like LSU was coming off a 4-8 season and gave up 61 to Baylor and how many unanswered points? 24 unanswered? Man, talk about a so called prevent. Maybe a DC needs to go, but I don't think its Chief.
So you are basically saying Saban out coached Miles AGAIN. All this other BS means nothing if they still lose. I did not miss anything, but apparently Miles did and has.......... You know what, Patterson went in and OWNED those 61 points, he ADMITTED and told is team and the public he made it too hard and CHANGED something the next week. Did you forget to "check the film" on the defensive minded team Auburn beat by 5, but got mauled yesterday? Check back with me when you do your homework. Patterson is the DC, I would think with all your name dropping you would know that. In addition, Patterson acknowledged "his style" would not work in the Big 12 after last year........he changed gears WiTH YOUNG PLAYERS and made it work.
