This thread is right on the money, I have been pointing out to people that we simply have the best special teams around, our defense aint to bad either. Look how many times we have put other teams inside their 10 or 20 yard line. I love everything about this football team!
Special teams and field position are almost always important in the LSU/Bama game. This thread is spot on.
On College Football Live today, Trevor Matich says Brad Wing may be the most important player on the field. Talks about being able to place the ball anywhere he wants it on both sides of the field, and the benefits that gives the coverage. They trust where he's going to put the ball, and can cover only that part of the field. Even if there is a return, the return man has nowhere to go.
:thumb: Bammers think this is "even" because they have a great return game ... they are in total denial here ... I see fumbles*... Eric Reid ... you gotcha ears on! Agree on special teams, but not when you say the LSU offense & dee Agree with all you said ... except that the defense is scoring some of those 37 TDs also ... gotta give credit where it is do, so it's not just special teams as the "REASON" The reason simply put = LSU has a superior special teams and defense and an excellent offense that doesn't make mistakes and takes what is given them. The type of team LSU has become simply cannot be beaten by Bama Not by a one-dimensional Alabama team having a superior defense, poor special teams and a solid offense against inferior competition I can't wait to watch the replay on Geaux Zone when I get back from Africa on November 10. I expect to see Bama starting many drives inside their 10 yard line Edit: LSU 38 Bama 13
I don't know if Brad is "the reason" we win but I do believe his performance will be a key ingredient. What coach would choose to drive 85 yards to score if he could only have to drive 70 yards? That's the Wing difference. Starting deep in your own territory also affects paly calling to start drives. Wing has the potential to change game plans.
Indeed. Consistently pinning the other team insdie their 20 and 10 takes a toll. How many teams can consistently drive the length of the field to the tune of 80+ yards multiple times per game? :geauxtige
This is going to be a major factor in this game... Statistically we are better in every category in third down conversions, both offensively and defensively. However, LSU has the best secondary we have faced all season. Those big third down conversions, could be an issue, so you could be right. Just depends on the Balance with the running game, and AJ taking what the defense will give him, which I do not think will be much throughout this game.
