Offer pulled because he went to visit Okie State without telling Coach Johnson. http://www.2theadvocate.com/sports/lsu/featured/34006129.html
I wonder if we will be reading articles about Johnson next year with Reese claiming he was screaming, calling him traitor, and OSU was from the debil...
If you are not a tiger, you're Tiger Bait. Kiss it, Butch. If the guy could coach himself out of a wet paper bag I'm sure the LSU administration would have given him a hard look. Fact is, the guy is an excellent recruiter and nothing more. HE got guys on campus without even meeting CJB. Now he's just taking it out on us.
It's a shame. Really, a shame. The kid was a Sporting News Second-Team All JUCO. But, if the kid's not loyal, is playing the field and doesn't have the common sense/ethics there, we're better off without 'em. CTJ did the right thing taking the offer away if this is true. You just can't let recruits think that LSU is a safety school. As Trent is going hard after some bigs, like Sidney and Natzyahko, hopefully we'll land a big. I think we'll be alright with Dotson and Ludwig, honestly, from the wing. Save the '09 schollie for one more big in this class and then get ready to load up in '10. :geauxtige
:geaux::crystal::helmet: Way to go CTJ! :thumb: Some kids don't get it that loyalty is a two-way street. The "me" generation expects that it's much better to recieve (loyalty) than to give. Hopefully this situation will open up the door for a kid who really wants to be at LSU. As for Butch, guess he's still miffed about not getting the LSU job so now he's tryin' to stick it to CTJ when he can. Didn't take him long to forget where he came from either. What goes around comes around though. :geauxtige:champs::LSU231:
Certainly, CTJ did the right thing here for LSU. Having said that, if you are Butch Pierre and have made contact with a player for some time, would you not try to woo that player as hard as you can if you feel they are really that good? Many are upset with this, that he is sticking it to LSU now, but the flip side is that he has been hired to do a job and needs to recruit as best as he can for his new school. Bottom line, BR committed to us did not maintain his integrity and he is the one to blame, IMO. I don't believe this was BP trying to get us back necessarily, but certainly it probably makes the situation more gratifying for him.
