In my lengthy post about Hawthorne, I said it was a team failure although I did dwell on the "voice of the Tigers". Lately, I must admit that the broadcast team has done a very good job of announcing the game situation. Like I said also, it was an easily correctable problem. Congrats, and thanks, to the broadcasters !!! .
Bashing the broadcasters is pretty common. A lot of us cut our Tiger teeth on John Ferguson and Walter Hill, but near the end, the criticism was getting old. Same type of crap about describing seemingly long runs that turn out to be no gainers and not keeping everyone apprised of score and time remaining. Hawthorne's eventual replacement will hear it too. Some people (not you steve) aren't happy if they aren't bitching. Edit: Kinda like me.
The media guides have pronounciation cheaters in them (for football). I'm assuming the broadcasters get a baseball media guide as well.
Great win Tigers, I am proud of how we rebounded after that pitching duel on Saturday. Nice to see us play to our potential and not down to our competition. Now we just need to shine even a little more brightly and take the Supers. Hopefully the boys can get thru this lefty mental block and start hitting. I don't think they will get the golden opportunity of having a 5.38 ERA lefty pitcher, of which they still couldn't hit against, on the mound again. This is a mental block the boys need to get past. I think one good string of hits against a lefty and that little weakness is done. Besides that our pitching and overall batting was lights out and I hope we see more of the same. Way to Geaux Tigers, CWS here we come. Woo Hoo!!!!!!!!
