You know, I'm not going to lie, at first I was happy to see Tony Romo do well, just because I thought he would be the starter at some point in the season after watching him play the Saints in the preseason. However, once the media started to annoint him as the second coming of Christ and he started enjoying the spoils, he started falling apart. After seeing him fumble the hold and then miss the goal line, I felt a little bad. But then I saw his reaction on the sideline. He hardly ever picked his head up, even though the Cowboys still had somewhat of a chance to get the ball back. Then running off the field at the end of the game - head hanging even lower. Then in the post-game interview, I swear I thought he was going to cry. Now, I understand that it was his first playoff game and all, but damn, as the leader of the team, that type of behavior is unacceptable. It evokes a loser's mentality. I lost a lot of respect for him after watching that. Sure, he's young, but he's been in the league long enough to see how other quarterbacks react to tough losses - even playoff losses. It's kind of hard for a team to put together a rally with any amount of time left on the clock when their quarterback is on the sideline pouting.
It's an absolute embarrassment that Romo was chosen to go to the Pro Bowl. Dude has nearly 3 turnovers a game in the last 5 games of the regular season. That's on the order of Rex Grossman. And we all know how pitiful a QB Rex is. I did feel badly for Romo however. The inability of T.O. to be a factor once again was the real reason they lost. And that's what I didn't like about it. All the talk will be about how Romo blew it, when in fact T.O. not getting open against scrubs and safeties playing corner was the Cowgirls ultimate demise. T.O. actually had a good game comparatively speaking. He had 2 catches and only 1 critical drop. That's a net yield of 1. Not bad for a night's work. Will be interesting to see if anyone will take T.O.'s contract. I can only see maybe Atlanta or Oakland taking him. Otherwise the Cowgirls will have to release him in the offseason.
I'm so glad the Cowgirls lost. What an embarrassing fumble by Romo. And just 8 weeks ago, he was deemed the Messiah. Ole T.O. got 2 catches? Some playoff contender... It's sad we have as many LSU players as we do on that team, 'cuz I still can't root for 'em.
Spears was a real big dissappointment for them this season. Especially after Ellis went down, they needed him to step up, but he went in the other direction. James' play also took a hit the 2nd half of the season.
I said the same thing, bro. I wouldn't have voted for him--and didn't. Problem with that debate is that the NFC really didn't have a 3rd QB that had a great season. I guess the argument could have been made for Michael Vick after becoming the first QB to rush for over 1,000 yards....had a LOT of drops by his WR's, yes, but he still only threw for 19 TD's--hardly eye-popping. So in Vick's case, it's like: DAMN! You've done something that no other QB has ever done! But, DAMN you SUCK throwing the ball!
Well if they didn't have to get the Pro Bowl invitees done 2 weeks prematurely, then Garcia would have been the obvious pick and a great story. They missed it big time on this one. Now they have a QB who doesn't want to come within a mile of a football for the next several weeks. I think he will call in sick and we will see Garcia replace him.
i actually think romo will go... no one plays a lick of defense in that game... it will be good for his shaken self to go out there and throw the ball around.
