We enter the score of the national championship game. So if I pick Clemson, and I let @mancha know (which I was going to do) and he picks Bama then he'd tie me if Bama wins, and obviously if he selects Bama then he'd have the score be for Bama and thus he'd tie me and win the tiebreaker. If I pick Bama, and mancha picks Clemson same thing, right? I figured it'd be fun to let him know in advance who I picked and see who wins, but then the tiebreaker deal gave me pause. I guess it'd be cheesy to tell him my pick then for the tiebreaker score go the opposite of my game pick i.e. say I pick Bama to win then I enter a score that has Clemson winning or I pick Clemson to win and my tiebreaker score would have Bama winning. That just feels cheesy to me as I picked who I thought would win, entered the score, and haven't touched it since. Anyone got any thoughts? It'd be fun to make the last game count, certainly, but I don't want to throw the competition or cheese it.
Overthink things much? Jesus. Don't tell him your pick even though it's Bama. If yall pick the same team you win bc he's the only one who can catch you. If yall pick differently and you get it right you win. Get it wrong and he doesn't it comes down to the tiebreaker score. Add the two differences in actual vs predicted scores of both teams. Smallest difference wins. Bama is -6 total is 60. Actually bet down to 5' and 59' meaning money is on Clemson and the under.
I thought tie breakers were predicting score of game and who is closer. I cannot see how this one is set up cause I'm not playing, really.
I've been accused of such a time or tw.. okay always. Ah, so is the tiebreaker score just the actual number differential ignoring which team actually wins? Like if I am off by 6 and he's off by 9 even though his score has the right team winning and mine doesn't I'd win?
The tiebreaker is the score but the outcome of the game still counts as a win or loss. Only then if still tied does the tiebreaker matter.
Dance with the one you brought to the dance, baw. Oh and keep, your mouth shut. There's a reason people can't see each others' picks. Even though I know Clemson is good enough to beat them, and I' hoping they do, I'm not about to tell someone to pick against Bama.
No the winner and loser affects the standings. ie, the game is still live awaiting the NC outcome. The score is a last resort (yall pick different and his team wins yall will then be tied). Hence all the scenarios prior. Then it comes down to the tiebreaker(score).
We're going to use the KISS principle. I will need @Brian & @mancha to PM myself & GDF their predicted score for the final game. Once the game starts we will be able to see who they picked. I suspect we won't need the tiebreaker. ETA: Bama is currently a 5 1/2 point favorite. We might need the tie breaker after all.
Bama will win cause although Clemsons QB is very impressive he is too slow to get away from the Bama rush. Bama wins the QB battle and Bama wins, ho hum.
