The thing I most worried about when Saban left and LSU hired Miles was that LSU football would slip to the 2nd tier in the SEC.

This has happened. In the last 2 years,(when Saban's personnel and coaching remnants have all left) MIles has lost to Alabama and Florida. Since these two teams are considered the SEC 1st level, LSU is now officially 2nd tier in the SEC. They cannot beat Alabama or Florida.

In the last 2 years, LSU has lost 8 games and from the results at the QB position and the defensive line weakness this year, LSU appears to have dropped off in the all important recruiting area. (Do not forget that they let ED Orgeron, considered by many to be the best recruiter in the country, get away to Tennessee).

About the Ole Miss debacle, let's begin with the 2 point conversion. You make 3.5 million dollars a year. You have 20 coaches on staff (this is including graduate assistants), and you have all day and half the night to work on football and the best you can come up with for a 2 point conversion is a low percentage fade to the corner. Not once but twice!

Then you get within field goal range and you risk getting out of range by throwing the ball 3 times in a row when you still have 2 timeouts left.
I do not care what Crowton wanted to do, I am running the football.
Also, all of LSU's opponents have admitted that the thing they fear the most from LSU's offense is for them to line up in the I and to run the ball. However, pass happy Crowton makes sure that LSU does not take advantage of the running game.

Then allowing 16 seconds to run off the clock. The only person on the sideline that can call timeout is the Head Coach. Why did he not run over to the Line Judge and signal timeout in his face as soon as Ridley was tackled? Miles should have thought of this ahead of time and been 1 step ahead of the game. (Do not forget the 3.5 million dollars a year). High school coaches are better prepared than Miles.

Then, on 4th down, if Miles had not had the field goal team ready, then the special teams coach should have had them ready.

As far as spiking the ball, no time was left, its a moot point. The only chance LSU had to preserve time and get organized was for the receiver, after making the catch, to lie down hurt, thus forcing the referee to call time out for the injury.

    BOTTOM LINE:

Les MIles has not done the job that he is over-paid to do. He should agree to a pay cut at the end of the season or be fired.

    PREDICTION:

Gary Crowton will be let go at the end of the season.

Ed was never coming to LSU. Ed hates LSU.

It was similar to the offseason situation for Brandon Bass. He gave lip service to the Hornets, but by all accounts wasn't coming back with Byron Scott as HC.

Deek is right, YAW YAW hates LSU because LSU snubbed him when he played footbaw for LSU.

My biggest problem with Les Miles is in game strategy and decision making, and the lack of preparation and lack of development of our players. It seems that since he has been here, LSU has games where they just break down mentally, fundamental stuff. I think he is a great representative of LSU, i think he is loves LSU, and is a great man, and recruiter.

Can't all these dumbass "hate Miles" threads be put in one so I can'y ignore them all? If there is a a well thought-out, intelligent thread about the "cons" of Les they can stay free, but these threads by brain donors are getting annoying.

Your biggest problem is that you want to win the SEC every year!

We win the SEC in 2010 with Miles then what?

You say no way but way!!!

We are 2 close games away right now from being in Atlanta and waiting to beat down the Gators.

This is in the year you want to fire CLM!

    amazing:insane:

Yeah i guess you could say that, but that doesn't encompass everything it is to be a coach. I think he is a great motivator, a good leader, and a good person, and is someone i would want my kid to play for because he seems to be an honest, hardworking guy.

Cliff, do you think we are in Atlanta this year with Saban as our coach? Want your thoughts?

I couldn't agree with you more regarding that aspect of it. Leader, role model, decent human being - he gets A+ in all those categories. He is fantastic at that part of it.

But what about some of the actual football stuff that's needed to you, you know be a football coach? Not so much. Intelligent folks may disagree but it's clear to me that CLM is a better man than he is a football coach.
