Just left the magic/celtics game and all I can say is WOW! The magic played a gooð portion of the game well and with that good ole fight! It was a great game and we won at the buzzer with a three pointer! The crowd went nuts and it was a great game! Big baby didn't play at all from what I saw. I was sad for that!
I like the Magic. My 1st idol was Penny Hardaway, so as a kid, I always had all the Magic gear and stuff. Anyway, I am glad they're doing well. The Celtics are leaking oil big-time right now. Doc Rivers' inept coaching is getting to them.
A lot of people around here thought that we pushed doc out of here too early. Not sure still what side I sit on but I will tell you that I saw a lot of questionable coaching by him but there was a lot on our side also. I couldn't for the life of me figure out why we wouldn't call a time out to stop the breakaways!? I think we had something like 3 tos the whole game! What!? We were like up 15 points at times and when they start the momentum flowing van gundy watches and does nothing! I had veins coming out of my forehead!!! Luckily the players knew to slow the game down and did! For once I saw a magic defense that I have wanted! There were whole minutes on end that every shot the celtics put up that got batted down! I LOVED IT!!! Such a great and exciting game! And I agree with you hardaway was and is one of my fav magic players of all time!
when Doc was in Orlando, I bled blue and silver, because of T-Mac, and yes, Doc did a lot of shady things. 2 of which were asking for management to spend their money to bring in Patrick Ewing and Horrace Grant. Another was his endless support of guys like Monty Williams and Andrew DeClearq, etc... If the Magic had the role players they have now, when McGrady played, they would have made it to the finals.
I know you aren't a saints fan but I feel that the magic make decisions like the saints (badly) and I don't uncerstand why. Actually now that I put that in writing maybe it is me! But the magic is plagued with bad decisions. Rivers is actually a good guy as he was a owner of a construction company in orlando after we got rid of him and I had a class woth him. We actually studied together because I had a lot more past experience and he didn't. Good guy and I think is a good coach but it is hard to turn a fan base around.
the whole operation went down-hill when they brought in that hockey-guy to become the GM. In his 1 year on the job, he proceeded to fire Doc Rivers, hire Johnny Davis, and trade T-Mac for Houston's trash.
