I do want Pellini. He would be the best choice to coach the defense team that he molded, not to mention he does deserve it.

There is no question in my mind the defense will be very fired up for this game with Pellini at the helms, and also to prove to others what they can do as a response to the criticisms they got for giving up the points and yards towards the end of the season.

    Of course he's a nice guy. He's a Buckeye!!

    Couldn't resist.

I can understand the defense wanting him there with them. As an outsider I have a hard time believing that the plethora of duties that he has as the head coach of Nebraska can't get in the way.

I think a win in the BCS championship game would give Pelini a LOT of credibility with recruits in Feb. and in the future. It is great advertising for Nebraska, they should PAY LSU for Pelini to coach the game. The camera will be on him a lot, the announcers will talk about him becoming the head coach at Nebraska. If :LSU231: wins the game, and you're a young defensive player in the Neb. vicinity, would you want to play for Pelini? I would say so.

This is a win win, good for LSU and good for Nebraska. :geauxtige :crystal:

We now have our team healed and at full strength. Our coach is staying. Nebraska's new head coach will coach our defense. Buckeyes, Wolverines, whatever. On January 7, 2008 we all bleed Purple and Gold. Look out Buckeyes, we are on a mission to finish the job! :thumb:

    Have a great day! :miles:

I really believe we will see the defense that played Miss. St. and Va Tech reemerge in the national championship.

Look for extremely aggressive play calling by Pelini on 3rd and long situations, trusting his DBs to cover Ohio State's decent wideouts (they are no better than what Notre Dame had to offer). I think we will see Chad Jones on multiple occasions having a clear path to the QB.

The game will NOT be lost due to poor defensive play.

The entire LSU team/staff "chemistry" does appear to be coming together very nicely for the Title Game.

This is going to be one good "gumbo" yea Cher!

I feel your joy and passion for our Tigers! :thumb: It will be beyond crazy in NOLA and BR. Bo is gonna want to showcase to Nebraska fans what he plans to bring to Cornhusker Nation. He wants to maximize the potential from this game for his own recruiting. His defensive players are gonna want to give their best game of the season. This is gonna be one great game!

I can't see Nebraska fans watching this game to see what they may look forward to in the future. Their eyes are undoubtedly on the first Weds. in Feb.

Right now, Pelini is sailing in a sinking ship when it comes to the class of '08. Just looking around a National Board, their recruiting situation looks like this...

    5* Blaine Gabbert- Decommitted
    5* Simi Kuli- Decommitted
    4* Jonas Gray- Decommitted
    4* Trevor Robinson- Decommitted
    4* Bryce Givens- Decommitted
    4* Will Compton- Decommitted
4* Dan Hoch- Very Soft Commit
    4* Shaun Mohler- Decommitted
    3* DJ Woods- Decommitted
    3* Doug Rippy- Decommitted
    3* Josh Williams- Decommitted
    3* Adrian Hilburn- Decommitted
    3* Darius Parish- Decommitted
3* Cameron Meredith- Soft Commit (I think he stays thanks to parents)
    3* Collins Okafor- Soft Commit
    3* Riley Rieff- Soft Commit

I've seen many here question Bo's affinity for the recruiting trail. It makes January look like a very uphill battle.

I have a feeling Bo will go above and beyond to coach this defense to a win. He knows that having a NC under his belt can help tremendously in his recruiting at Nebraska. All he has to do is win one more game with LSU and he has a NC ring for a lifetime. I don't think he'll scoff at that opportunity.

It's not "scoffing" at an opportunity.

He has to recruit for Nebraska and currently that effort is a sinking ship. Anyone that thinks he won't be devoting a serious amount of time and effort to his Nebraska duties is delusional.

I'm not saying that LSU won't come out and play a great defensive game. Just don't kid yourself that you're getting 110% from your defensive coordinator for the game.
