I don't think it really hurts recruiting. It doesn't help anything, but I don't think it really hurts because I think every fan base boos at some point.

Many of these players just care about who can give them their best shot at making the pros. Many others just want to go to the place they've loved since being a kid.

Because you have a guy like Nick Saban who will degrade a player like he is a piece of $hit in front of 90,000 people and he still ends up with great recruiting classes every year. And it comes off looking much more violent looking than some random boos when he's up in the person's face dropping F bombs, throwing his headset, etc.

The coaches set up those boos last night.

Even if true, the players don't know that. I could NEVER boo an LSU player (Okay maybe on Halloween  )

I think the recruits would be more disappointed and turned off by what they saw the coaches put on the field rather than a sprinkling of booing when it's obvious the team is playing horrible. Not justifying the boos, but It wouldn't be my main concern from last night from a recruiting stand point.

It was excruciating. It doesn't matter if you were booing at the playcalling or at Lee. It cannot be distinguished as different. It was very frustrating to watch that game last night, and maybe it did not translate to tv well, but in the stadium, it was very loud.

It was terrible last year and just as embarrassing this year. Any man in that stadium that boos a college player should be tied to the back of a truck for his ride home. IMO, they all suck ass.

I watched on TV and it seemed like all the boos except maybe 1 were directed at the piss poor effort by JL. They were overwhelmingly loud considering how many had already left the game by then. Maybe I'm wrong. I can't condone it no matter how inept he is. It seemed to affect him because when they started booing he actually looked even more lost and clueless. He actually looked like he wanted to cry at one point. I'm glad he didn't. He'll be OK though because Les consoled him on the sideline, talked him through it, and told him how very proud he is of him and how hard he competed.

When JJ came out of halftime without pads, I swear I sent up a quick prayer that TC McCartney would throw off the headphones and take the field. Could it have been any worse than JL's performance in the first half? How bad can he be?

I was there, not only did I hear the booing but I also got to hear what everyone was saying. I'd say most of the booing was directed towards the pitiful play calling although JL gave the fans plenty to boo about if they felt the urge. There was also a very big boo when RS was taken out of the game after a couple of really nice plays in the wild what ever you want to call it(Tiger/Cat). Many of the boos may have been after a bad pass, but what many were saying is why in the hell are they throwing the ball when it looks like they can run at will but can't hit the side of a barn with a pass. I can say for a fact that in my section the the play calling got more boos than JL by far.

Agreed, disgraceful behavior booing Lee. Reflects badly on LSU fans and reduces LSU mystique. Makes LSU fans look like idiotic, unsportsmanly louts. Whats next, cheering when opposing players get injured? Louts...

Miles was indirectly negative about the booing, but I wish he would come straight out and blast the booing fans. If I'd been there I would have booed the booers. Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Booooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo to you. You know who you are. Shame! Shame I say! Shame!

Where was the booing coming from mostly? Stadium wide? Student section?

Miles has more important things to worry about than fans booing. If he does his job no one at an LSU vs LA Tech game would be booing unless they were dresses in red and blue. If Miles spends a bunch of time on fan behavior it tells me he doesn't know how to fix the real problem. If he does know how to fix the problem with his team he will use his time wisely and get them fixed then the boos will go away by themselves.
From anywhere in the stadium that you could see the game.

    I have only ever boo'd the refs...never a tiger.

Booing is the equivalent of the defamatory name calling that's going on here...
Out of place, undignififed, uncalled for.
