Lasalle ... to think that the constant anti Trump rhetoric has not played a role in the violent division of the nation is ridiculous. Granted, Trump himself dishes out his fair share primarily against the media, but that is nothing compared to what the media do to him. He is just one person, the media are legion. Even his tweets against the MSM are cast in a negative light by the media. The Media is just pissed that Trump hasn’t rolled over and caved like all the other spineless republicans have done in the past. The media calls h8m a misogynist, Trump says f**k you, the media calls him a racist, Trump says f**k you, ... they don’t know how to handle such a person.

LaSalle you know I’m pretty anti Trump and have spoken out against both his manner and actions. What you seem to ignore is the long history of democrats, the media and the so called liberal elite on the coasts dehumanizing conservatives. This has been a drum beat used against not only the leaders but those poor fools who support them. People are just fed up with this treatment and Trump was just the person to make hay with the resentment. When people like HRC and Obama dismiss us as rubes and deplorable what do you expect? Should we say I’m sorry and yes sir may I have another, cover our heads with ashes and say a mea culpa? You see I hate the democrats and liberals who have dumped on and vilified us for years. I hate the media for ignoring and dismissing the threats and violence of the left. Did you know there were packages of white powder sent to the White House, Trump’s family and other Republicans? Where was the outcry from the media and the democrats? Many support him because he’s NOT HRC or the democrats which is a very valid and attractive reason. It’s a cry of rage and desperation against a party and portion of society that attacks everything we hold sacred. I understand it but believe Trump is as dangerous to the country as the liberals. You are first in line to condemn heartless and corrupt conservatives yet when challenged about similar acts from the left you dismiss it as a pox on all politicians. When you have the courage to speak out against the left as you do so often against the right your positions will have some currency. When will you cease to be fooled by the statist liberals who will take your freedoms? Then your comments will carry some weight with me.
That's the thing that gets me. The left refuses to acknowledge that their rhetoric and actions are contributing to the political discord in the country. Trump hasn't helped either but everything is his fault? It's more complex than that but he is the easy villain. I hate that he tweets. I don't like that he acts like a child sometimes. But I do like that he doesn't lay down and take it, like all other GOP leaders have done. He fights back against the narrative that GOP is bad, Dems are good. And if you see his rallies, the people like it too. Like you said, people are fed up with how we are treated by the left.
