all the announcers are doing is saying crap like "Boise is amazing at stopping teams in the red zone" and "Another dominating performance by Boise" Ok fine, those may be true but who the hell have they played? Wyoming. Toledo. Hell their best opponent is a team that lost to a freaking Division I-AA school. I hate them.
They are playing teams that don't have one 4 or 5 star player. That punt return for a TD looked just like Marcus Dupree in those high school highlights. It is hard to judge these smaller schools. I bet they could play fine if they had to play an SEC team once a year. It is easy to get up for a big game and play your best, but if they had to play an SEC schedule they would be toast. They did beat VaTech and Ore St, so they are trying to improve the schedule, (in their defense).
Between Boise and TCU, they might play one team that will play on New Year's Day. They both schedule the cupcakes by the dozen. Not to forget, Boise will have one extra day to play their top conference rival next week by playing tonight.
You have to give them credit where it's due. Yes they play in a crappy conference against weak teams. But they will schedule big boys out of conference and go on the road to play them. And when they play weaker teams, they kick the snot out of them so there's no doubt who the better team is. No screwing around and having a close score so that their detractors have any basis to say "crappy team X almost beat them." If they were in the SEC with the resources that it brings, they wouldn't be bottom feeders. They'd be mid pack. They are exactly the type of team I wouldn't want to play in the Sugar Bowl. That game would not be a whipping I can assure you, I believe it'd be a lot closer than some of you seem to think. But that horrific blue turf should be against some sort of NCAA rule. It's disgusting.
Alabama AD: 'no call from Boise' | CollegeFootballTalk ... “Boise State has not contacted us,” said Alabama athletic director Mal Moore. It may not seem like ‘Bama’s throwin’ down entirely, but the Tide is now the second program to say “O Rly?” to Boise athletic director Gene Bleymaier bold claim. ...
In boise's defense. .... for what its worth, .. last year they did beat Oregon and TCU. TCU was undefeated going into the bowl game where Boise beat them ... and Boise handed Oregon its only regular season losss. I say for what its worth, because I don't consider hardly any of the big teams in the other conferences to amount to squat. OU went down to us and FL, OHS went down to us and FL ... Texas went down to Bama. This last decade, if you are not playing the SEC top tier teams, .. you aren't playing the best in the nation ... period. I watched the game last night. It's laughable to think that Boise's defense could rush on an SEC Oline like they did last night. It's laughable that Moore would be able to sit back in the pocket, play a game of checkers, eat a cookie and then decide who he wants to throw to against an SEC defense. To be honest ... I hope LSU does meet Boise in a bowl game. Bring it on!!! Given that the media thinks LSU is a joke, it would tell the real tale .... Boise is not what they think it is. LSU would crush Boise. If LSU's defense can hold Cam Newton INC to lucky 24 points .. I don't see a Boise state scoring more than 10 points .. if that. If Boise wants to prove something .. they should demand that they get put in bowl games against top SEC opponents. This year, an LSU, AR, Bama, MSU or FL.
