Amen to that....the guy would be an embarassment to LSU. Any success he would produce (and he hasn't won a championship in about 20 years) would not be worth the negative publicity he would bring to the school.
Hiring Bobby Knight would be a disaster. We need to get a young good coach. I think we should pull a coach from the NBA like Mike Dunleavy. It would guarantee a great program and bring much needed recruit interest in LSU Basketball. We don't need a safe or typical hire. Look what Bruce Pearl has done with Tennessee in 3 short years. Let's raise the bar and bring in a high profile coach.
Not gonna happen. For starters, he is 68. I'd say that's a tad bit old to rebuild a program. Secondly, he can no longer recruit top athletes. It takes a unique player to play for him, and a spoiled kid who has been pampered for most of his life is not one of them. I'll be shocked of Knight coaches again.
Any non PC influence in this country is great in my book. I love that he hurts peoples feelings and rubs people the wrong way. We need more of that. I don't think he's a good fit for LSU at this time though. We need a young guy.
No, he is right. Louisville and "Never Nervous Pervis" Ellison took us out in '86, on their way to their second title. Indiana took us out in '81, and went on to win the title. Louisiville did also take us out of the Elite Eight in '80 though.
I do not think it will happen but Bobby Knight would be great for LSU! 1. We would compete for championships. 2. we would have the best graduation rate in the state. (one of the main reasons Brady was fired)
