Remember when Dale challenged Bobby Knight to a naked wrestling match in a hotel, or something like that? :hihi: Something along the lines of locking the door and finding out who the winner was by who left the room. Daddy Dale and Bobby have since made up.
He took us out in 1986. I would say that qualifies more then a few years. Shaq was probably still in diapers.
Please lock this thread so that it buries itself and this horrible idea gains zero traction in the subconcious mind of anyone involved in hiring who might be lurking around. Please. Please. :rolleye33:
Unfortunately, I'm old enough to remember Shaq in one of my HUGE lecture rooms (History, maybe?) and he was most definitely NOT in diapers in 86.
I think Knight would have I tough time to recruit the athletes that's needed to play/win in the SEC. It seems Knight is unwilling to change over the years and kids these days have a tough time playing for someone like him and his archaic system. I'd rather have John Wooden at 97 yrs old. Here's a classic Knight moment. o: :hihi: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yw7KijRfU-c btw LSU lost 89-79 to Indiana in the 2nd round (West Region)back in 1992. Despite LSU losing that game, I remember Shaq's last shot as a college basketball player was a dunk.
Actually, Denny Crum and my alma mater Louisville took LSU out in 1986 on the way to their second title. LSU did dump Kentucky out, thankfully.
I agree I think we should get Anthony Grant from VCU, he was an assistant under Donovan at Florida and knows the SEC
If Bobby Knight is hired, I will never watch another LSU basketball game. The guy needs mental help. He is a horrible influence on kids. Yes, his players graduate, but he does not know how to control his temper. He thinks he rules the world and nobody can tell him otherwise. I would never allow my kid to play for him.
