he was supposed to be on mike and mike this morning. I didn't get a chance to listen. also on some show on sirius. im sure we will hear about it from someone. ill see if i can dig it up. i like hearing that coonass bring up issues everyone was already thinking but too scared to ask. the truth shall set us free. and im pretty sure bobby coached his sons in football at different points of their childhood. pop warner if I remember correctly. but thats not the point. 15 yrs professional qb qualifies his comments. but you dont need a phd in football to have valid questions regarding that complete coaching failure monday night.
WWL.com had a poll on their website where about 98% of the people that voted agreed with what Hebert said. If they respect their listeners they won't come down on him too hard.
And that is the problem I have with the "question" he asked--though he's been on a tirade for several days. Unprofessional.
Are they going the P.C. route now? Maybe the Athletic Dept will come down on him because he refused to appreciate that LSU did not lose--they came in second; also, that JL was on the field, but did not take snaps (perhaps because he was too far away from center to do so). I respect CLM for all he has done, and for being the man of quality I thought he was; but I have questions now--about the conduct of the coaching, the non-game plan, non-use of the deep roster of our team and the disingenuous answers by CLM to reasonable questions by the media. This is not the time to split hairs--how the O became a full-frontal audition for "The Walking Dead" ought to be analyzed and explained--if only to prevent its future recurrence!
When you look at how badly Bama destroyed all of their opponents during the season (much like we did), with NFL talent all over their D and only giving up 8 pts/game, with two months of embarrasment to regroup after 9-6 and led by quality defensive coaches; I think these factors had a lot to do with the outcome. Bobby Hebert's rant immediately brought to mind his flipping off episode against the Eagles (?) and nobody (nationally) takes him very seriously. He's hurting the program in a similar vein as all of us that are creating rumors and stories about everything under the sun. He also adds to the stereotype that everyone from south Louisiana are drunks that talk funny (ok, maybe we are to some extent). If he would have asked a direct question rather than his lengthy rambling discourse, I would have no problem with it. I just think he added his Jack Daniels to the fire, which may negatively impact future seasons. In the words of our former coach who shall remain nameless, "It's time to move on, got it?!?!"
Oh, but he doesn't care anymore about future seasons. As he rambled yesterday to Cowherd, he said something about his son being a senior and it not being his problem anymore.
Tirk - if that is true "and it would be nice to know where you got that or are you just stirring the pot" than I hope WWL understands Bobby was right, he just asked the questions we all have been wanting to know the answers to. Guilbeau is correct when he says all CLM does is evade the questions with is babbling BS. We deserve to know the answers because people who support the program "I do" help pay CLM over $3.75mil a year and that gives us the right to get the answers. We might not like the answers but he owes us them. Also if something happens to B. Hebert because of his questions "which I hope it does not" something tells me that losing the job will not affect how he lives. 14 years in the pro's probably helped that outcome.
