Dead on? He was barely coherent half of the time. He sounded like a wounded dad, angry about his son's team losing the national championship. What about his five-minute rant on why hasn't Texas hired Saban? Wth did that have to do with anything? It pi$$ed me off. And I don't get that angry too often.
I also think it is better for Miles NOT to have it all swept under the rug and sugar coated. Sometimes it takes someone to push you in front of the mirror before you take a closer look. Miles needs to closely examine his role with the offense. If he does I think he will find that LSU's offense is better off in hands of someone else. Hopefully the harsh and deserved criticism will lead him to make adjustments. I for one am very glad that BH is saying what most fans are thinking. Miles needs to hear the truth from someone that supports LSU but isn't scared to tell it like it is. Miles didn't fix the time management issues until he started feeling the heat. BH turning up the burner on the offensive problems sounds good to me.
He didn't ask why Texas hasn't hired Saban he said look for them to hire Saban if Mack continues to struggle. Sometimes the truth is painful to hear. Miles considers himself an offensive coach, but he is not. LSU would be much better off if he took a hands off approach. Stud had things rolling early on as we used the pass to set up the run. JJ wiggled off the hook and Miles went back to a run dominated one dimensional offense. I'd like to see an OC given full control with no input from Miles for a season.
Have you been reading about the players reactions at all? There appears to be big trouble. BH rant was the same thinking of players and fans alike. Most of us are incoherent with anger and shock!
I'd like to see the same approach. Let CLM play leadership roll and be face of program and let other highly competent OC run the offense. The crap played in the NCG won't cut it. Chavis did his job. 21 points wouldn't have been scored had the defense not been on the field the entire night.
Everyone seems ready to leap off a cliff. And it happens anytime we lose and half of the time even when we don't. If people here really think having Hebert running around over any and all media that will take him and publicly "pantsing" our head coach is prudent, then that's a problem in and of itself. A couple of months ago, Miles was the man and the haters were in the shadows. They're back out in force, now. Of course, it's human nature to want to say "I told you so." Everyone is a genius with 20/20 hindsight.
The bottom line is: something went terribly wrong with the offense, which was shocking and disappointing considering the team had been ranked number 1 most of the season. Things need to be rectified, seemingly on the coaching side........
No one is looking to jump off a cliff and the LSU just had an outstanding season that just ended poorly. Criticizing and critiquing the obvious isn't being down on the program. The future looks bright. However it would look much brighter if Miles had less offensive input. What ever public criticism it takes to get him to realize that is fine with me. Miles is a great coach, however he is a very very poor offensive coordinator. The pitiful coaching job absolutely shocked fans and surprisingly players. Miles can make improvements or risk a downturn in recruiting. When multiple loyal players are grumbling it's much more than a few disgruntled fans. You are confusing valid criticism with hating on Miles and it is not nearly the same thing.
She was talking about the posters who only come out after big losses to hammer Les. We've had a number of the usual suspects this week and we know their patterns by now.
