I know, nothing logical about it, since logic only resides in your grape, eh sport?

If true, then he'd already be saying so to keep his team focused and his recruits committed. If an offer is made, Les will give it serious consideration. He won't get another chance to get back to his alma mater if that is his coaching dream.

I wouldn't say that. Look how many times Carolina tried to get Roy Williams before he finally decided to leave Kansas.

If there is a retirement announcement to be made, it will not be on a date that anything to do with our team. And.....If Wishigan wants CLM, you are living in some kind of nether world if you think he doesn't know about it already. And.....If the offer is made....CLM is gone. Wouldn't you? If I was making a million coaching Wishigan I would take half that to get back home to coach the team I played for and was once an assistant coach for.

So for now, while a lot is at stake this season and I may have to send my Christmas present back until the 3 time jacket comes out........

If Bo is supposed to be the greatest UM coach, shouldn't he have liked actually won a NC at some point?

I know Carr won half a championship, but I've never seen a coach do so little with so much. Why should UM really care who Carr wants to follow him?

That's my point. They're mired in mediocrity and will move on, burying their past with a change of direction. Hiring CLM is resurrecting the past, not burying it.

Coaches will "no comment" on these things no matter which way they really want to go. Even if Les secretly desires to stay at LSU forever, he will still "no comment" any speculation about his future. Because to publicly say he is staying at LSU will undermine his contract negotiation with LSU. If your boss knows that you will never leave then they have no incentive to give you a raise.

I don't know about all that. Seems to me if :milesmic: wins the NCG, he'll have all the negotiating power he needs. I'd even say that if all he does is win the SEC, he and his pocket book will win as well. The man has accomplished more in less than 3 years (winning percentage) than any coach in the history of LSU.
