Pelini 39-15 (finished ranked in top 20 three seasons, possibly a 4th this year)

Solich 58-19 (finished ranked in top 10 three seasons, two more top 20 seasons)

Pelini won't have a better record than Solich most likely in 2 more years. Projected to a 60-21 or 59-22 record by then.

    So what happens then?

Solich got a bad deal. So did Cutcliff and Nutt with OM.

Solich followed a national championship winning legend. He inherited a football culture that gauged success in terms of championships won.

Bo inherited a program that had been humbled and knew mediocrity. I think his reason is a little longer, but not much.

Nebraska was still in denial about the BCS when Solich arrived. They were accustomed to winning a weak Big 8 and on the rare occasion they were able to win the Orange Bowl, they were automatically crowned the champs.

These days you have to prove more to win a title. (I guess unless you're Alabama and don't even have to win your division. :hihi:)

Nebraska must recruit much better to ever have another chance at a title.

Bo's stats are padded by having been in the Big12 North.
