Tebob was weighed and measured last week as a backup center and he was clearly noticeable to be the weak link in the OL with several plays blown up when he failed to do his job ... running game and passing game was disrupted. LSU had to resort to a blocking back on many plays. Since there is a next to zero chance Les will play a gimpy Lonergan at center, Blackwell could see some work at center. It's obvious Tebob is not a quality backup at center and LSU is better off with Blackwell at center and Tebob at guard until Lonergan returns. Miles hinted Blackwell may see some practice work at center this week. I think we truck* their arses Saturday with Blackwell at center, maybe getting over 250 yards rushing and similar passing numbers. Best to leave Lonergan heal until the Bama game instead of playing him and getting him hurt again. *Edit post ... After reports of suspensions (drug test failure) for Ware and Tyrex by (University student newspaper press release) ... we may only "slash" their arses with Ford ... Blue may still Truck them, but not as bad as if Ware were in there!
T-Bob is hurt. He can barely push off on his knee. Unfortunately there's not really any other option right now.
T-Bob's injury isn't the issue. He was been the weak link on the line for the last few years. He is a backup at best. I know Saban is licking his chops watch film on T-Bob getting knocked back 3 yards every other play.
Exactly. Watching him I can't help but get the feeling his hearts not REALLY into it and he's one of those kids that plays cause it means a lot to dad.
Tebob will play at Alabama as a guard. He'll hold up fine there. Just when he's at center, he gets beat because he lacks the low center of gravity for the position. I always liked a center to be around 6' nothing and capable of getting real low after the snap to negate any defensive line surge.
I agree. T-bob is undersized to play against a big SEC nose tackle. But he reads defenses very well and calls the line plays better than anyone by all accounts. He's an asset on the line. He understands blocking angles and that's how he gets his blocks. He does this better at guard.
