Its official now, albeit an official verbal pledge: http://www.thenewsstar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=200770115013
I'm not trying to tell anyone what they should or should not do. Like I said, I don't really care. I just thought it was in bad taste to run & bring it here when it was reported the way it was, but apparently tiger777 didn't know that it had been reported that way so it doesn't even matter.
This is SLIGHTLY on topic, so bear with me. I would like to try and calm some fears about recruiting against Saban. Will Blackwell, from West Monroe High School, has family in Alabama. Will's father is a coach at West Monroe High School. Nick Saban OWNED recruiting at West Monroe High School while at LSU. Will Blackwell, along with Luther Davis, both from West Monroe, are LSU commits. I hope this makes some of you rest easier about LSU competing against Bama with Saban. I reported a few days after Saban went to Bama that I thought it was a possibility that Will goes to Bama. My niece used to date him, so I knew that he had family in Bama, and that Saban had a connection with his dad. In fact, Saban was watching Will when he was an underclassmen at WMHS. I myself worried that he would go to Bama upon hearing of Saban's hiring. My fears are put to rest.
If Blackwell comes to LSU as planned, that will make 5 players on the roster for only the 2nd time in history. The other time was when Saban was coach. Who are the 5 players on the current roster? Blackwell Steltz?
1)Blackwell 2)Luke Sanders 3)Mark Snyder That's all I can think of. Steltz is from Metairie, LA and came from Rummel High School.
