Good to hear that both could play this weekend according to what Miles said today.

If so it will be our 1st game with the starting oline since the UNC game.

I assume right where he needs to be or close to it. He has been practicing the last 2 weeks.

Then there was no hope of getting him an injury waiver?

It would have been a risk but Blackwell got healthy faster than anyone expected from what I hear. He wants to play and the staff needs him.

Red, I looked deeper into it and found out the staff looked into gaining a 6th year but it was not an option. Mainly because redshirt years are considered voluntary and when a player uses up the redshirt year, they would have to be out 2 full seasons due to injury have a real shot at qualifying for the waiver.

The NCAA has been making it harder and harder to qualify over the years.

Good work "B", I was going to say it would be dumb to play him instead of holding him back so that we could get him in the game again next season. This sort of clears it up and forces our hand in that if he is healthy and has no shot of getting another year why not play him. It also saves me from making a dumb post later talking about why they played him when ....

It should be a good week for him to get a taste of game speed before the huge game next week with the hogs.
