Can’t believe Carolina is playing AT App State. At one time, years ago, the state legislature threatened to make it a law that either Carolina or State, can’t remember which one, play ECU. Did something similar happen? Maybe it is lasting impact of the Michigan game. Regardless seems like a good one.

 

Great memory, the law was passed to get ECU to play Carolina. It was years ago. Think it was early to mid 80's. Not the case this time.
Mac Brown and Sparky Woods (sr advisor to head coach) both coached at App State. Mac still has a home in Linville and visits frequently. He has been known to pay golf with Eric Church. This lead to Eric being invited to games, doing promos for the Tar Heels, etc. As a result, some App State fans are mad at Mr. Church for supposedly putting UNC above his alma mater.
It will be a wild day in Boone. Traffic jams and 3 hour restaurant waits.

The last picture is what it looked like my freshman year. Yes I'm old. about the only thing that hasn'tr changed is my Freshman dorm is visible in most of the pictures. IT is currently scheduled for demolition later this year.

 

Definitely on my bucket list to visit Boone, N.C. What an absolute gem…

 

Went skiing there once. It’s a beautiful place.

 

It's a great place to visit. Football Saturday's were always special. Unfortunately, I haven't been to a game in about ten years. The stadium is bigger and parking is more of an issue than ever. In my day a $500 donation got you a numbered space about 30 yards from the stadium. Today that might get you in a first come first served parking deck on the other side of campus. Long walks to the stadium are standard on game days now. Fortunately a walk across town/campus has pretty good scenery.
Boone has about 18,000 people when school is out. The best things about Boone is campus area, downtown and the areas outside of town out in the mountains. If you like the outdoors it's paradise in the summers.

 

THE University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill travels to Boone for a high noon kickoff. Weather forecast is for a high of 76 and partly cloudy skies. Minimal chance of rain. Boone, ASU and the stadium will be hyped more than normal. UNC- CH is a 1.5 point favorite. Telecast is ESPNU.

We have been trying to get this team to Boone for a very long time. I just hope our boys can focus on the job at hand and not get too hyped up to play (it's happened before).

Thanks, we beat them at their place a couple of years ago. Our house this time. Last time we had a game this big at home we laid an egg. Miami whacked us 45-10.
