That is gorgeous. If you've lived on the gulf coast all your life, and have never seen it, you might think its not real. Until you see it in person. The first time for me was in my youth when I once rode parts of the Blue Ridge Parkway on a motorcycle. One of the best days of my life.
That picture is the Blue Ridge Parkway around the backside of Grandfather Mountain, through a place called Rough Ridge and across the Linn Cove Viaduct. Here's another angle. Second image is Rough Ridge.
ICYMI - App State sold out this stadium on Wednesday night and took down the 14th ranked Coastal Carolina Chanticleers. Holding their offense to 55 yards total rushing. Quite a turnaround after being embarrassed (players words) at Lafayette last week. In case you didn't know it is about a 2hr drive from everywhere to get there. There were more people in the stadium that night than live in Boone. On a Wednesday night...... And my soon to be torn down Freshman dorm is visible in all three pictures. The large mountain in the far background of picture 3 is Grandfather Mountain. Above pictures are from the other side of it.
Got to go out west for the powder. We have ice, slush and hard pack. Good for people that have never been or just can't get to Colorado. But just like the leaves, there are good years and bad.
