Georgia State game in Boone Tomorrow 2:30 pm ESPN+. Their HC played at App State with our current HC. Both were long time App State assistants to HOF Coach Jerry More. THey want to be us very badly. Uniform reveal below, it's heroes day in Boone. https://twitter.com/AppState_FB/status/1327037651329769473
Came back with a back up QB and back up running back. If gut check wins are beautiful, this one was gorgeous. O line starter out, top RB out, top receiver dinged up, QB left taped to a back board and in an ambulance. It was ugly, but our guys never quit. That made the win even more satisfying. FYI- QB is out of the hospital and resting at home. No other status reported. he did tweet a thanks for the prayers. Up next- 15th ranked and undefeated Coastal Carolina. I've seen them play a couple of games this year and they are for real. This will be a battle for the top spot in the Sun Belt East and a probable game against the likely West champion Ragin' Cajuns. If we win, we could play ULL two weeks in a row to end the season. We will be heavy underdogs for the first time in a while. Sat Nov 21 Noon EST on ESPN2 or ESPNU (TBD)
Game time is set for 12 noon EST on ESPN2. Same time as the LSU V Hogs. I'll be watching both at the same time. Coastal Carolina is much better than ever before. They are also talking a lot of junk. They have never beaten us before and we are underdogs this year. We have been underdogs in about 5 conference games over the last few years and have ever lost one of those games. Our QB is out , our top receiver is out, our top running back may not play. We'll see if the next men up can get it done. Uniform reveal. https://twitter.com/AppState_FB/status/1329569101589700611
Thanks for the condolences. I should be madder than I am but we have had a rough year. Covid issues, without our top receiver, the next three receivers have been playing hurt all year (one missed this game, one started and left on a cart and the third limped through). Our top two running backs are out and we played true freshmen in a couple of positions. Defense played pretty well overall but gave up some big plays. The problems came on offense. Play calling was bad. Our QB left the field on a stretcher last week and played today. His throws were off target all day and his judgement wasn't good. He threw three interceptions. Our backup led the come from behind win last week and should have started today. We ran all over them in the first half and then quit running in the second. That's fine if they shut down the run but they didn't really shut down the run, we abandoned it. We also had a bunch of penalties today and they only had three. Apparently their offensive line doesn't ever hold, even when they have a fist full of jersey (lol). For the first time in while, we will not be conference champs. Hats off to Coastal, they are good but not that good. We let this one slip away. 2020 sucks. If we get healthy and everyone comes back for their bonus year of eligibility, we could be dangerous next year.
